Bought a Bertram 28 flybridge from Massachusetts sight unseen and flew on a plane from Miami to drive her back down the us Eastern seaboard in a week.
This is about 1/3 of the great loop in a vintage classic Bertram 28 with twin small block Chevy crusader v8 motors

You were one block from me in Va. Beach, but I didn’t see this until you left for Oregon inlet. Safe passage to you and thanks for posting. PS, I had a 28 Bert many years ago and loved it.

That’s awesome that you guys came to Crocker’s Boatyard to fuel up. Have you made it to Miami yet. I asked Nate if this was you and he totally recognized your voice. Found the first video scrolling RU-vid. Cheers Crocker’s crew.

Hmmm, coincidentally, on your maiden voyage, the entire radar thing, unexpectedly, without any prior indication, fell down. Imagine if that happened two weeks earlier? The previous owner would have to shell out and not re-coup. They cant charge extra for providing radar.

I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt on this one. Pretty sure it was just a shit build/design and we were running a bit fast in hard chop

@@BobHGarage I'll believe you :) Ok, on the Hudson at 79th street in Manhattan is a boat basin, me and my friends were born across the street. Literally. Those were our ball fields we played at in the 60's and 70's, same kids still friends. If you gotta be born poor in the 60's, that neighborhood was the place to do it. We got so lucky being born and growing up in the middle of that island. Nice job!

how many days / and fuel did it cost for the 1400 miles..?
@BobHGarage
@BobHGarage Год назад
It was 7 days and the boat gets about 1mpg. Gas at the time was sky high, we paid over $8/gallon some places. I didn’t keep receipts but somewhere close to $10k in gas to get her home
