No codes this way. Better way is to just clip the vent lines to the tank and eliminate this whole charcoal system all together… but then you will get codes. But $200 for HPTuners and you won’t have codes
That was 2 years ago, curious as if it's still fixed?? Had that happen to my 2011 Santa Fe and all of the charcoal BB's went thru the lines and into the tank. I think 2 or 3 different canisters had to be replaced along with them dropping the gas tank to empty and clean it out totally.
Yeah! You trade one light that doesn't hinder driveability for two lights that pertain to the vehicle stability control... Way to point people in the wrong direction for a free fix! Keep them coming to my shop for crap they caused by being cheap!!! 😂
lol genius they are not related. The lights are on the car in the video because of a bad o2 sensor. Good lord the poor suckers bringing cars to a clown like you who doesn’t know the difference
@@BobHGarageLast I checked, VSC and O² sensors didn't use the same 5v reference. That would explain the check engine light but definitely not the other 2. 😂
Pump kept shutting off. Removed canister and found that sensor valve housing had a hole in it and electric connector was broken. Stone or something must have come up and whacked it good. Used knife and screwdriver to open canister. Removed charcoal which looked good, no clumping. Blew out filters with air hose, put charcoal back in and sealed with silicone. Replaced the valve sensor part for 30 bucks. Tank fills up with no issue. Hoping this will cause the gascap warning to go away.
Forgot to mention this was an 07 durango. If the charcoal had been clumpy I had planned to heat it in a pan over outdoor stove to dry it and reuse it. Why spend money to replace when it's more fun to try to fix it yourself. Always learn something whether it works or not
So essentially you can just disconnect the hose that goes from the gas tank to the canister and you’re doing the same thing. Because when you clean out the charcoal it’s just venting to the atmosphere anyway.
If you do that you will get a check engine light. But yes, the better way to do this is to just clip the line and vent to atmosphere. But then you will need to purchase HP Tuners in order to delete the check engine light. So about $300. What’s in the video is how to do it for free. 👍
@@BobHGarage I’ve already got emissions tuned out of the computer. I won’t get a check engine light. It’s just that when I had the vehicle tuned I wasn’t having this problem.
Those Formulas are some of the best looking boats ever made. I'd still take them over most looks wise until we start talking DCB or MTI, but at that price there is no comparison. The M41/44 is probably my favorite.
looks like the blue pump is a condensation pump. the sea water intake should have a pump near it for the AC unit. very old unit. new one is like $1k. or a 12v model 3-4K
Hello, Bob, we have an amazing product(carplay android box) that I think would be a perfect fit for a car. Would you be open to the idea of creating a video showcasing our product?
I’ve changed the charcoal box 3 times, purge valve and charcoal canister valve. And still same issue lol I’ve replaced these parts about 3 times each. And still same issue what could it be???
@@martinchacon6666 the lines from the gas tank to the charcoal canister. Clip them closer to the canister. You’ll get a check engine light which you can erase with hptuners but you’ll never have the filling problem again.
Sadly the pellets from mine are in the tank lines of my 2013 Escalade Ext. Replaced rhe charcoal canister and the selenoid and still wont take gas properly. Both garages said same thing.... install a new gas tank. Apparently common on these platforms. What a trash heap.
Don’t replace the tank. Just clip the lines from the tank to the charcoal canister. It will completely solve the problem. The downside is you’ll need to spend $250 on HPTuners to go in and remove the check engine light. But absolutely do not replace the gas tanks. That’s insane and the shops are trying to take advantage of your lack of knowledge.
@@BobHGarage I figured there was a way to bypass the damn issue. They wanted $2400 and I just laughed. Wonder if there is a video on that? Would the light continuously come on once done, or just once?
@@Optimization_Coach yes it’s an easy solution. I did it to my wife’s Escalade years ago. Just never made a video and we don’t own those trucks anymore. But you will get a CEL that will stay on. If you reset it, it will always come back. You’ll need HPTuners to completely delete the code from the computer.
Curious as to the results of this 2 years later? I am facing the same issues and want to solve it! Does dumping the charcoal really do anything? Is the charcoal important at all? Just worried about saftey!
The better fix is to just clip the lines leading into the charcoal cannister and let the gas tank vent to atmosphere. Unfortunately though you will need HpTuners in order to remove the check engine light if you go this route.
@@BobHGarage I don’t necessarily care about the CEL. My friend is concerned that the evap is a saftey issue not environmental one. Keeping the vapors in the system. One cigarette lit next to my car will cause a potential explosion he said. Thoughts?
It's a Lexus sedan with a giant V8 basically cut in half with half the weight and cuts through the wind. I've always wondered if it could keep up with a stang. Thanks, that was cool. I have a 2005 SC. You had a heavy full tank of gas, too.
