Today we're boarding the Royal Princess for our first Alaska cruise! We will spend the next 7 days sailing with Princess Cruise Line and we're so excited for this experience! We've sailed with Disney Cruise Line 7 times and this is our first non-Disney cruise. We're so excited to share it all with you!
In this video, we get all checked in, board the ship, give you a ship tour and stateroom tour and show you some of what we do on this first day!
All we can say is... WOW! Princess sure makes a beautiful ship! What a great start to a great vacation!

So, they didn't have a sail away party like DCL does, at least not that we heard about. We watched us sail away while out on our balcony at the front of the ship, so we may have missed it if they did.

Wow!!!! What a beautiful ship!!! State room and balcony looks amazing. The views from that balcony are going to be great. I hope one day I one day to go on an Alaska cruise. The land tour of Alaska I took was fabulous so to do a cruise someday would be awesome. Adam, keep these long cruise vlogs coming!!! Smiled from beginning to end ☺️

The room is cool with the big balcony. You can definitely see the differences from the Disney cruise ships. Feels more “adult”

princess seems so underrated online, no one ever talks about it but it's my fave cruise line so far (for reference, I'm in my 30s). The ships are so pretty and the food is the best. it's so chill, sitting in the atrium is just so nice. dance lessons too! (Disney cruise in the fall though!)

We took that same cruise route a few years ago on the Island Princess. The Royal Princess is absolutely stunning. Something that was available on our ship that we didn't know about before boarding was a tour of the galley and food prep area for the restaurants. As a foodie, it was very enlightening on how they prepare food on board and deliver it. Also the hour tour ended with meeting the Chef on board. Very enjoyable so if they offer it. Do it if you can.

Thanks for this. My wife and I are taking our first cruise in June on Royal Princess from Anchorage (Whittier) to Vancouver and I've had no idea what to expect. We're going with some good friends and family so it should be fun no matter what. I don't want to go into this trip blind. I want some intel so we can take full advantage of the trip. LOVE Princess ships! Last cruise on the Emerald, we put our decorative bed pillows over the bottom side bed lights. They were too bright! The food is always perfect! Cannot say enough about how much we love Princess!

The Princess Cruise Ship looks really awesome. The entry hall when you board the ship blow me away. And the area for younger kids up to the area for the teenagers is really cool. I love it that they made the table in the shape of surf boards. I don't know if you have noticed this, Adam. I'm sure you had have an amazing cruise. 💗💗💗💗

Wonderful video! I’ve been on Disney, RCL and Princess cruises (and enjoyed them all immensely) and I think what stands out to me is that I feel like an adult on the Princess and RCL cruises. Granted, my Disney cruises have been with my young children, but I still feel like it’s more of an adult feel outside of Disney.

We are booked on the Royal Princess next summer (2024) after our youngest graduates high school. The ship will be departing from Whittier and ending in Vancouver. We live in South Anchorage, so we are looking forward to actually driving to the port - instead of flying out days prior - just to make sure we get to the departure port with plenty of time. I really enjoyed this series and it's always nice to hear from other Alaskans on how they like cruising Alaska. Thanks.

I've been on a Princess cruise before but not that one. They are really cool and this one you were on on looks beautiful. I really like Princess because they only hold 2,000 something people. So you feel like you have the ship all to yourself. At least the time I went idk about now.

I believe the Royal is one of the larger ships for Princess and it can hold about 3,600 passengers. However, there were around half that many for our cruise, so it was wonderful.

I always usually watched your vlogs on my own. Since moving, that has proven ineffective since I just never have time to watch them. So I thought, you know what? I’m going to watch with Ezra! He knows Adam and Sherri now. And he’d really like these new videos because we’ve been on the Royal Princess! First two seconds. Adam says “hi friends”. Ezra says “hi Adam!!” I bust up laughing. And then when Adam asked Sherri what she was doing at one point, Ezra just says “uh, she’s fixing her hair Adam.” 😂 Guess watching with Ezra is a good choice!! Man, just your first day and it’s reminding me how much we loved that ship and would gladly go back!! Although, yeah. Lack of outlets was a bit frustrating! And so interesting!! When we cruise, the comedians are usually our favorite (aside from trivia 🤓). But the Royal Princess comedian is the only one we’ve ever left early from. Maybe they need a better entertainment recruiter. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Welcome aboard. We are at night 6 of our 7 night cruise. No masks anywhere, except medical facility. I put "Where the Red Fern Grows", "The Giver", and "Atlas Shrugged" into the library on board the Carnival Vista.

I'm going on a cruise with my dad, my uncle, and my aunt on Sapphire Princess. Tomorrow it starts from Vancouver BC and ends in Whittier AK. After that, it is a 4 day land excursion to Fairbanks, AK.

I noticed the medication you were storing in the fridge is Ozempic. Not sure if you knew it only has to be stored in the fridge prior to first dose. Then it can be stored at room temperature.

We did that same cruise five years ago but went with Holland America lines. The ship is very similar of course and the route is the same. The differences are very minor. We loved it and would love to go again but the flight from Australia is too long.

We actually didn't notice any motion difference from when we've cruised mid-ship. We expected the worst because that's what we had heard. Maybe we lucked out, but for us it was great!
