25 years after hearing them for the first time I am still as enamored by their magic as ever. This has never happened before, and might never happen again. And it is okay.
I first listened to BOC on a drive back home to SW Ontario two days after taking acid with a group of strangers in Thunder Bay, summer 2020. Campfire Headphase was the soundtrack to my newfound reality as my mind realigned itself into something it had never been before, going 90 down the Trans Can 11 along roads lined by mountain mist and ancient evergreens. I realized then that the world is full of magic and we are lucky to be alive within it. It was the greatest return of my life - so far.
It's been back in 2003 and I was just taking first steps in making music and electronics seemed to me unworthy even to listen. That was all before I've met that girl, who where listening to BoC and she ruined my purity to grange forever... The deepest emotions and state of mind is reflected here, in this music. Cheers for sharing!
@@goldenratio5117 BoC has this uncanny ability to capture the widest range of emotions and environments in their discography imo. No other artist comes close to that for me.
These are bringing back memories of 2005-2009 when I listened to BOC after bartending and just chilled in my apartment stoned and a little drunk floating away!! Also they are great to pass the time by on a bus, road trip or while walking, biking or working out while using good headphones or over car speakers!! The best! This is like math electronica the people who turned me on to them would say, but I just find it to be very nostalgic, comforting and slightly disturbing, but in a good way. lol I was born in 1982, so this music sounds like old 70-80's movie soundtracks, commercials and trippy vintage lofi synth sounds layered into a beautiful dreamy sound!! Love this mix you made too! Puts the music in perspective, as I had the albums memorized and it's nice to hear them all mixed up like this!
Yes, like all BoC records, this tape was found clutched in the hands of a 5000 year old mummified time traveler. There is only .01 of them in existence.
I haven't listened to BOC Maxima as much as some of the others and that one took me off-guard on this listen. Really good track, don't know why I didn't notice it before.
This. Reminds me of late 1990s when a friend of mine would raid one onf his bros stash while they were out and I would played with the turntable records that filed the room. He called it "white resin" but I later learned it was totally "k". Made ya feel like a page of notepaper in the wind with just a pencap.
It’s a real album alright, just ended up getting scrapped and many songs on it were reused on later projects. You can tell because there are early versions of the songs on here.
I love this music. Music that has no singer makes it easier to study to, sleep to, and concentrate on anything. It helped me sleep in the day when working at night. I slept with those marshmallow foam earphones. I could sleep on my side with those.
It's amazing how this guys can bring so much mystery and mystique to their tracks, I can't really define it. It's like ancient electronic musique, like if the Egyptians had synths and samplers or something
İki mavi gözün arkasına serilmiş o büyüleyici karanlığını aksini iddia etsen de yaşama ve bana dair olan tutkunu özleyeceğim. Yollarımızın daha uygun koşullarda kesişmesi ümidiyle.
