Back at it today at the Beautiful Launch @ ICW here in Orange Beach Alabama and we’ve got a good crowd here today. Hang out with us for a bit, grab a drink and enjoy the show! #BoatRampVideos #TheBigDanShow
Big Dan... totally agree with your comments about ppl using the ramp to load their boat with coolers, fishing tackle, etc. The other super annoying boat ramp issue is someone that can't back their boat. For the love of everything that is holy, go to a school parking lot and practice backing up ur rig! Preparation Prevents Piss Poor Performance!
I want to thank you for your excellent narrative, Big Dan. You are clearly an expert on boating and all the complications and risks which go with it. You are also really grounded on the features and cultures of your area. So please accept my appreciation -- from an old gal who knows horses like you know boats! Best wishes in the future!
Hey Big Dan, greetings from Finland! Just wanted to say that I absolutely love your content! You always manage to brighten my day. Wishing you all the best and looking forward to what you have in store for us next! Keep up the amazing work! 🌟
Lol, doublewide of the sea…never heard that one before! I can’t wait until that guy with the jet ski shows up again. I’d park the drone right above him. Why couldn’t he just say that was me, and lol, I should have backed in a little deeper. Life is too short to get upset over small stuff.
The good one that I witnessed was a recreational boat with 12 Mexicans pulled out the boat and parked in the staging area. Brought out a small grill and started blasting music! Really in the staging lane!
Amen on your perspective of our rights brother! At least we're all still out here fighting to conserve our rights. No matter, LOVE seeing so many people out and off their phones.
You are so very true. Everybody wants to take our rights away. I love your show. I remember when orange Beach never had a boat ramp. Maybe I'll come down and see what it's like now. Keep up the good work.
When my dad first bought the 1989 Sunbird for the family in 2005 we had to get towed in all the time. Then in 2007 we got it dialed in and the boat started to grow on me. Ever since having the fiberglass redone and rebuilding the engine with an upgraded carburetor, it’s been reliable. And I hope we never have to sell it. Also update on my JetSki why it was cavitating: trim seal gasket in my ride plate needs replacing, I sucked up eelgrass I just couldn’t see it unless I took apart, and impeller is chewed up hahaha. I’m not a hot dogger but I do ride this thing a lot and I ride on a pretty sketchy piece of the Tennessee River. Well my company is busy right now my next day off is May 3rd so I found a reasonable local mechanic who’s going to rebuild my pump and repitch my impeller. This guy is pretty well known too the local marine police have him work on their boats too. Keep up the great content and have a blessed day, -Stuart P.
You're lucky to be allowed to fly a drone there, some other ramp watches aren't allowed to due to it being a park. ;-) At 15:15; that's why you should have two engines so you're not embarrassed, being hauled back to port. ;-D
hello from the Trent Severn in Ontario Canada. we still miss boating and I were there I would shake your hand on your positive attitude and good humor.Good days to you and yours.
A trick I learned when backing up with a trailer is to hold your hand(s) at the very bottom of the steering wheel. You then move your hand(s) the direction you want the back of the trailer to go.
Dan the Buskins 29 was built by the captain Joe Buskins. He has a channel fishbump tv and documents the build. Amazing attention to detail on it. Performs well with just twin 150s on it.
@@TheBigDanShow in his shakedown video it planes on 1 engine. I learned a lot from watching his videos, just wish I'd found them while I was working on my boat.
He has a whole build series on his channel fish bump tv! Super detailed and informative videos on the boat build and boat repairs in general. Definitely a good channel to check out.
Anyone who films or takes pictures from a place where the photographer has a legal right to be, the video/pics are completely legit. You do t need consent to film those in public,no matter their age or anything else... Now, a private entity can restrict you filming on their property. But if you're not on their property but filming their property, there's nothing they can say.
Yea you’re respectful. And film from a distance. Another creator is right in peoples faces and upset when people get pissed. He says it’s my right. True but there’s also manners
Double wide of the seas😂 TRI toon a triple wide? Some of them higher end toons are up with a double wide price's before the markets went crazy. Following the video timeline does the drone flying around mean it's repaired?
Man, our main water is a river and we always had to load and unload with a current and still never had as much problem as these total F'n dillholes with pretty much calm water.
Back in my 3 times/wk boating days, launching my Biesemeyer v-drive flattie was easy. Toward the 90s it got a bit more crazy with all the spoiled kids bringing their rich daddies $80k wake boats! Not a good time for flatties! Most people are so ignorant, it is amazing they barely manage as well as they do! Glad that is behind me, but have many great memories! Courtesy?? Screw that! Love your channel! Thanks
Another great video and definitely busy morning at the ramp. I see people up there have no respect to other boaters too. Can't believe you still have butt hurt people in the comments. Sad what this world has come to. Stay true to yourself and you will thrive for sure.
The double wide of the seas issue is the short wheel base vehicle and a long trailer. Same thing with Jeeps. The smaller vehicles have the hardest time backing the trailer. Can also go other way, long wheel base vehicle and short trailer.
1:08 he might not be used to going to that boat ramp. It looks like that boat ramp you do not have to go as deep as some of the other ones but like here in Buffalo New York some of our boat launches you have to get your tires wet to get the boat in the water. They rebuilt our main harbors ramps so its not so much there as it is the other older places that are not well kept. The lake also dropped more than 6 foot in my life time so some of the ramps are still set for there to be 6 more feet or water. There are some that just drop off and if you go an inch to far your axels on your trailer will drop off the ledge.
Interesting watching from Australia, your ramps are very steep, then i realised the boat trailers dont seem to have rollers fitted. Is that normal in the USA?
If you don't want to be filmed, blast your stereo when you arrive. He won't be able to profit from RU-vid because of copyright issues. Filming people during stressful situations is a low move.
Just wanted to say that the Buskens 2900 shown at 8:30 and 27:08 was designed and built by Joe Buskens who is operating it in your video. He has a great RU-vid channel called FishBumpTV where he provides incredible instructional videos in all areas of boat building, repair and fishing.
Folks, if you want some good entertainment on a warm Saturday afternoon, just go down to one of your local popular boat launch sites. Take a lawn chair and some refreshments and watch the stupidity unfold. You will wonder why there are not more boat accidents on the water. It will truly open your eyes as to how many people have more money the sense. My wife and I do this occasionally on a warm afternoon when we have nothing else on our agenda. Always on a weekend and usually the stupidity starts around 1:00 or so.
The thing about filming people is those from the baby boomer generation didn't film people without their consent. It was a courtesy thing. And filming children was a flat no no. Some people still feel this way. Times have changed, some good changes some bad changes. I still think filming children that aren't yours is off limits. You are respectful and I appreciate that or I wouldn't have subscribed. I love your drone footage.
Thanks. I leave most kids out unless it’s someone I know or unless it’s a subscriber that I’ve spoke to. Once their 18, alll bets are off. There is a lot of DUMB 18-25 year olds. Lol
In 20+ years of boating, I was towed out 1 time when my flattie blew a drive plate, sending shards into the oil filter! Had to special order the plate, but 3 wks later, we were back, terrorizing the outboards, I/Os and feeshing boats! Jk
I've got to wonder - haven't some of these drivers ever thought of going to a large empty parking lot and PRACTICING backing the boat? At least until you learn which way to turn the steering wheel. And I'll also add my thanks for your speech on free speech.
Dan, love ❤ your channel! You aren’t rude and disrespectful to people who don’t want their children or their worst moments posted all over the internet for all their friends and coworkers to see like some of the other launch mishaps my husband and I live in Fairhope, but aren’t part of the Fairhope wealth group. Husband just purchased books on the Great American Boat Loop and got me excited to trying it out. Wouldn’t mind getting away and on the water for a year or so. You obviously see a lot of boats. Any idea where’s the best place to meet some folks that’s done the Loop and to look for a “Loop ready” small yacht for under 100k?
Double wide has no idea how to back a trailer in, and should NOT be owning a boat. Would hate to be near them on the highway when they're towing that either, scary stuff.
Dan, Thank you for sharing the content you make, it makes my day go by more easily. I really appreciate. Do you know the type of boat (make) that is at 25:11 ? I would appreciate you or anyone's help. Thank you, God bless brother.
It is entertaining togo sit at a busy boat ramp at times ,but I couldn't do it everyday just to make a dollar off views. I am more of a hands on guy to go help people launch or get their boats back on the trailer than to sit back and film them.
Keep a can of WD40 in the boat and spray down your gun with it for the trip home. It is cheap and will protect it for the short term. I don’t use it for the final protection, I prefer Eezox but wd40 is cheap and perfect to soak it down for travel after a day in the salt marsh.
Glad you commented on the fact of people waiting until they get their boat on the ramp to start loading their supplies and prepping the boat for launch. This one of the biggest things that pisses me off at the boat ramp. They are complete assholes. I wish they would start enforcing this and fining those inconsiderate jerks. It would more than cover the cost of boat launch facilities.
I'd like to exercise my rights too. Big Dan, your no Alfred and that's not Black Point. 😆 And another thing, don;t say bloop bloop, that belongs to Alfred. 😆😆
Trying hard to think of something to video here locally. We do have some lakes, but it's very seasonal, and not much boat traffic. Best I could come up with would be filming the idiots at Ikea trying to fit huge boxe of unassembled furniture into their little hybrid cars. However, that's private property, and they'd most likely trespass me pretty quickly.
What was so funny that pontoon boat that was towed in and it did not have no power did you all see the guy turning the stear the boat lol he was trying to ster that pontoon boat it doesn't matter what boat it is if the engine not running in gear and someone is towing you your steering wheel will do nothing to steer the boat lol. OMG someone else is being towed in you see that guy turning the steering wheel back an forth like it's going to help this is so funny
Such a huge wide open boat ramp. The ones I go to are a lot smaller and if you go crooked you hit a tree or other obstacle. Not everyone should own a boat.
Maybe you can attach a microphone to the drone or have it drop helpful messages to some of these goobers! I know though as you say, most people don’t want help. 😂
Hey that boat at the end I believe is from the fish bump tv you tube channel. They show the build process of that boat on their channel. The buskens 2900 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Q5Yrh2RH2CI.htmlsi=C4-tuIF-OpR3pcRc
I’ve never watched a single video that had more people that were as clueless about operating their boat as they are backing their trailers in the water.
