I always view that sprayfoam as more of a dpc than actual insulation.. it helps stop moisture on the inner hull ( probably...) but provides minimal insulation but yes I'd agree some air between inner fit out wall and the spray foam isnt a bad thing... still needs more insulation than just the foam..
I've just moved on a boat with C/Heating, don't think you can use it like you do in a house, it is not meant to be used that way, it's just used to take the chill of in a morning until you have got the stove stoked up. ie you will need a multi fule stove on board

Looks a good project boat for you. Couple of points from what you have shown, the batteries need to be enclosed, also change the solar controller to something better. Good luck with the project.

The boat you were showing looked nice and it gives you the opportunity to design the interior by your self. I liked the quick look at the other boat that is going away this coming Wednesday. I would have bought some lottery tickets for that one if I was looking for a narrowboat. Are you really sure about downsizing when you plan to get a family?
Couple of questions - Will George fit in a sideways bed? Looking at the boat from the side and outside there seems to be a lot of wasted space forward, the cabin could’ve been quite a lot longer.
So is this one longer or shorter than your present one? Whatever I wish you success with your new home wherever and whatever it may be. Very much a blank canvas onto which you can paint your own style.
Could I suggest you look at keeping the webasto system which is a very good oil fueled one and see if a good plumber could add in another boiler to the system so you could choose between having your woodstove 's back boiler heat your water tank for the taps and the central heating and/or the webasto.
Well the world has funny way, giving you the opportunity. And the boat is clearly wonderful blank canvas. So Go for it. You only regret the opportunities you never take. As for cookers and power as have an anlog back up plan

Well it’s probably a bit late, but this is the first I heard of another little person, but I might be hanging on to the larger boat. They are re not little people for very long really. I think you shud slow down and do some more exploring for the right. This seems to be a lot of work and compromise. The boat will never be your 20 year boat. Slow down
May I am very excited for you. It might be worth while to find out who built the hull and then contact them to find out what was done ie insulation. The builder should have a record about the work they did. Do yourself a huge favor; GET A COMPLETE SURVEY done!!! As for the engine, the fact that the engine bay is clean and without rust is a good sign. The initials BHP38 should mean that it is a 38 HP engine. Remember to think from the head and not from the heart with a purchase of this size and if George is going to live with you find out what his feelings are about this boat. I really hope that this comes together for you. Since you have seen this boat around a lot suggests that she has been watching out for you which is a good sign. If you decide to purchase her DO get her named "out of the water" and ASAP after you purchase her. She will bring you good luck and many safe journeys. Mark Alberta, Canada
Hello. I would ask if he would put heating on for you so that you can feel the heating working and find where drafts of cold air. Like windows or any other place you find.
i dont know why you would want to get rid of one boat to get another, unless the one you have now is going to cost more to fix than the new one to buy?
