Note when removing rust with vinegar, make sure to neutralize bathed parts with a baking soda solution, simply drying with a rag might still leave the top surface acidic and cause some pretty fast rusting. Great build overall and thank you for filming and sharing with us!
Good work young men, looks great! You should always wear a respirator when sanding and wire wheeling the old paint and rust, always. The paints back then were some nasty stuff. Also, the rollers on the trailer are more for a fiberglass boat. They will eventually dent the aluminum. Sell it and get back at it with another one lol. Entertaining and encouraging. Thanks for sharing
This turned out super great, just a friendly heads up it looks like your lug nuts were put on backwards, the flat side should face out and the angled side should go towards the wheel.
you should have just put duct tape on the roller and clean the frame with coke to take the rust out (just kidding).. oh bless you!! now you know where I started commenting on the video.. Good job, on the work and final product.
4 hrs of work this younger generation just wants everything handed to them I fully restored my boat and trailer in one week working after work every day
I’d guess you went a little heavier with the coats which is fine, but it will take longer to dry maybe a week to fully cure? Idk it all depends on how heavy you went and the conditions the paint is drying in.
