I rebuilt the two barrel MerCarb myself a few years ago and running fine now. If you watch my more recent video logs you can see how well my engine is starting and running. I am getting ready for Hurricane now and hope the boat will survive the most recent storm and the ones that follow this year. Expecting busy year for Hurricanes.
I have had the tape get into the system on plumbing but in this case the water seperating fuel filter would prevent and problems. I am thinking superglue or blue thread lock would work. I plan to call Moller tech support and ask them. No leaks yet with just bare threads.
I agree with your opinion of the filter catching the tape pieces. That's what a filter is for... picky people have other opinions... I'll post a comment above
Never use brass fittings on aluminum fuel tanks. There’s copper in those brass fittings and copper and aluminum or not galvanically compatible. Tread lightly…..
