Couldn’t agree more with your answer on classic vs new. For me it’s a no question always classic. Wood or plastic doesn’t matter. But proper seaworthy design and classic lines make for a beautiful boat. I also liked the B29.9
@@sealcove70 Ha! And the Justine is #2 on this video. The Justine is simply stunning and one was just launched in Camden last week and it was temporarily moored next to my boat. I couldn't take my eyes off of her! Enjoy!
@@boatfools I pretty sure I have seen the one you took a video of. We go west to Camden maybe once a summer and will spend a night on the dock in the inner harbor as a splurge. Hopefully will make time again soon. Have a good sailing season.
@boatfools I was at Arklow Harbour yesterday, SE Ireland. I saw a Little Harbour 53 ( first in real life, rest on line, truly gorgeous) just over from your side of the pond, a Kelly Peterson 44 and a Malo 42. Still green with boat envy........
Least wind resistance keeling design is what we are looking for because this reduces heeling over and increases speed and rudder control in high wind..
Something like a wing keel at the mast and blade at the midpoint between the mast and headsails forestay relative to the sail area ratio. The stem of the center of resistance should be the deepest point of the sailboat.
except heeling is exactly what you WANT to increase your waterline and steady the boat out, i don't think you sail. "speed and rudder control"? what the hell are you talking about.
Those $500k base price boats are pretty much impossible prices. You'll be almost twice the base price when getting it ordered. They're absurd, just like you mentioned. I wonder how long they'll last?
Aloha from the garden island Kauai 🏝 Hawaii. I am very intresting to buy this boat Bristol for $ 14,000 dollars and to sail solo around the world ⛵️ 🌎 Please ket me know about this boat ? Thank you great video and great information
Hello Rimas! She looks like a great boat. Here’s the email contact for the seller: b7e8c365fd173bd185f07abff99435a1@sale.craigslist.org Also, there’s a link to the listing in the description below the video. The boat has a laundry list of updates and upgrades that have been done to her. Very impressive and the same owner for the past 20 years. Hope this helps!
