Another proof of Dylan's deep knowledge of american music and of his profound humanity and humility paying tribute to an artist that had not the chance to become as famous and recognised as himself despite a great talent too!
Bob played harmonica on Warren Zevon's song "Factory". And on Warren's final album, Warren played the Dylan song Knocking On Heavens Door. By then he knew he was dying...and he kept saying in the song "open up; open up" (the doors of heaven). I hope and pray Warren made it to heaven. God bless Warren Zevon and Bob Dylan!
Funny thing… 'The Factory' contains the lines, "Don't know much about Kennedy/ I was too busy working in the factory". Mr. Dylan's 2020 work 'Murder Most Foul' goes into great detail about the Kennedys; it also quotes Mr. Z's 'Desperados Under The Eaves' from the latter's eponymous 1976 album and mentions "sacrificial lambs"… 'Sacrificial Lambs' is the name of the first track on 'My Ride's Here', Mr. Z's 2002 album… Murder Most Foul is a long piece which covers a lot of ground, but it seems Mr. Dylan kept WWZ in his heart all this time.
When BobDylan covers songs you wrote I would say that's quite an honor,a very large sign of respect,Zevon was undoubtedly one of the special folks that don't come often!
This show is my favorite Dylan show that I've seen. Full of surprises. I love the band of this era. Listen to that guitar work. They even played "Brown Sugar" too.
... and here it is, just posted "Brown Sugar" for you and all Bob (and Stones) fans. Enjoy! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-cOYZcEiJfnk.html
Bob nailed it, "Bob Dylan invented my job...spokesman for my generation"---Warren Zevon on David Letterman. And Warren’s Dentist Dr. Stan Goldman was Bob Dylan’s cousin.
Thank you for sharing this treasure. Now which great artist must I choose to enjoy? Can't do it. Guess I'll have to love both as long as I live. Thanks again.
When Bob Dylan covers your songs, you belong in many halls of fame. The rock and roll hall of fame, being perhaps, the least significant. Deserved, nonetheless.
@@123thof I guess I was politely saying I find Dylan’s version unlistenable. It’s very cool he did this but his vocals by this time just aren’t pleasant or interesting to me in any way. Shame.
@@jonschneider6394 "interesting to me" it is just an opinion. So badly informed that is easily disposable. Yes...Zevon versions of Zevon's songs are better...but still...Dylan songs are better in every way...so, that you deem interesting to yourself is just a useless piece of info! Thanks for wasting evryone's time.
