There are no bad Dylan albums and of course the early ones (Freewheeling, Blonde on Blonde etc) are immortal but as someone who also grew up with his work this is one I like to come back to very often.
It reminds me of a certain, sun dappled, childhood summer. I rode bikes all over town with my best friend, as she introduced me to kids I'd be goig to school with in the fall. That was a sweet "time out of time".
@@peliche77 Bob Dylan was born with the name of Robert Zimmerman. They are the same person. I was making a joke, my apologies. I love Bob Dylan; he tore away the pretenses of society and exposed the falsehoods of those in power. He also wrote beautiful love songs, wistful and elegant in their simplicity. God writes through Bob Dylan and Bob reciprocates by having a strong faith in God. Bob has spoken for those without a voice, a noble endeavor that has garnered him respect and an undying loyalty, such as your own.
Met an African student from Tchad in my early twenties am (now 70) while studying in Nice, France we both fell madly in love listening and dancing to this. Intoxicating music. Dylan had this gift that you could not resist.
We did Bob's slower version, Nowhere near up to this guys standard. Love ya, Bob Dylan ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Aolzva-txSY.html

One is going to slip by now and then😊. I still have to politely correct those who think Willie Nelson's (masterful) version of "Blue Skies" was the original. Suggested Irving Berlin about a hundred yrs earlier😁. "Bo-bo-bodie-oh."
He dedicated this song to me, and now I feel more loved. Because he doesnt express much, but he just says 'If not for you..' May everyone get that someone whom they love the most. Here's to all ❤️❤️
This song just randomly came into my head today so I had to listen to this version and the George Harrison one. Now I'm going to listen to some traveling wilburys
@@RickB1792 They recorded the alternate version. Guitar and arrangement, tempo and emotion etc was closer to George's eventual version, so I'm guessing that was George's contribution and he ended up doing it himself. I wish they had harmonized on that alternate version.
Beautiful...all you folks that hit your Golden Anniversaries... BLESS YOU ALL! Brings tears to my eyes, my grandparents & all my Aunts & Uncles stuck it out til death do them part. I shall forever be a lone wolf 🐺 Every time I thought it Right, I was severely WRONG! Hahaha! But all of you beautiful people are real Troopers. Celebrate your love ❤️ and honor one another. God Bless U All!

Except for one cover and only one. All along the watchtower by Jimi. The only time I can confidently say the cover of a Dylan song is better than the original. Jimis version came outta nowhere man so left field like how did he even come up w that arrangement. My father is the one who first argued that to me when I was just a kid, he passed away 4 weeks ago and I've been listening to non stop Dylan his favorite artist I miss the guy..
@@blanchedevereaux456, Condolences on the loss of your father. Listening to music is a beautiful way of connecting with memories... 💓 PS; Dylan always played the Hendrix arrangement...he loved it. Spotify has a great playlist "All Bob Dylan Albums" starting w/ Witmark Demos '62-'64. Hendrix traveled with a collection of Bob's lyrics...even tried getting little swirls of curl in his hair ( i.e. 1966 Dylan ) using the little pink spongy rollers 😎
@@blanchedevereaux456, There's also fantastic Dylan performances on "Hard to Handle" recorded while touring w/ Petty & Heartbreakers. If U haven't seen/heard it...it's a 54 minute treat...still on Utube! Again, sorry for your loss ❤️
He put into words what we all have felt and was were our souls have been at times I the dark and distante places.Thank God for his light I would have never come out of it to get back to her. Thanks Mr. Bob Dylan!
Surprisingly I listened to the George Harrison version first many years ago, which is really fab. However, it's yet another of Bob Dylan's all time ageless classics and brilliant when you are experiencing love or have ever been in love. Sure makes me wonder how long it took Dylan to compose such a romantic song as this one surely is. Probably an hour at most. Such a genius composer of poetic depictions and descriptions of life and people.
Dylan, Tom Petty and George Harrison were sitting around playing one evening, Harrison got up to go the bathroom, Dylan leans over to Petty and says, "You know he was in the Beatles." Even Bob had his heros
@@audreyhuggins874 did you have a filthy depraved incestual type of thing as a child? Your dad , your uncle or maybe the local priest or hobo? Grateful he composed this, so Olivia Newton John could record it for me and my first and last love...1970 to present! Best friend and only lover always❤️❤️ Married 44 years so far!
I really do love the way Bob plays this song.....when I think of the music that influenced me as young boy..I see that I was born with two father's Dylan and Harrison
The album that got me interested in Bob Dylan in 1970. It was all about that voice. Day of the Locust was the stand out tune. Ive been a major fan ever since....Bobs the best!
@@beatleneil Yes, Her cover of this song is one of the few Dylan covers i like. Cat Powers cover of Stuck inside of Mobile and Claptons cover of Born in Time are the others i like.

I met my future wife in 1964 also when I was 16 and she was 15. Dylan wasn’t much of a singer but his writing made lots of people/groups famous. A real talent-a real artist.
My idea of "wild thin mercury music" God bless Bob Dylan, driving around mid-coast Maine (that is "down east") in 2003, painting at night in my $100 a month studio amid the yurts, listening to this made me a devotee, when before I was just a fan
I don't why l love his style either but l do. Back in the 70's l found an 8 track tape of his greatest hits, bought it and fell in love with his music. I played it so much l wore it out.
