Lyrics:
Meet me in the morning
56th and Wabasha
Meet me in the morning
56th and Wabasha
Honey, we could be in Kansas
By time the snow begins to thaw
They say the darkest hous
Is right before the dawn
They say the darkest hour
Is right before the dawn
But you wouldn't know it by me
Every day's been darkness since you been gone
Little rooster crowin'
There must be something on his mind
Little rooster crowin'
There must be something on his mind
Well, I feel just like that rooster
Honey, ya treat me so unkind
Well, I struggled through barbed wire
Felt the hail fall from above
Well, I struggled through barbed wire
Felt the hail fall from above
Well, you know I even outran the hound dogs
Honey, you know I've earned your love
Look at the sun
Sinkin' like a ship
Look at the sun
Sinkin' like a ship
Ain't that just like my heart, babe
When you kissed my lips?

It is a hard choice, since each era had albums that stood out, however for this era this was simply perfection, not much from that time even compares. Keep in mind, they didn't do a whole lot of takes either, it was left raw and is exactly what it sounds like, great musicians jamming together. Other groups labored over albums, Bob was basically of the mind to just cut the track, and keep moving. No reason to fuss over it, just lay it down.

😊 The river Ganges, flows from the high mountains to the low sea. They say the water taken from her should be offered back to that river. In reverence it's nice, it's clean, but the bozos offer only sewage back these days, they're so mean. Dylan's works are clean, don't anybody offer trash to what he says, they'll meet their last days ... quicker. Long long live our bard, his leaving will be too damn hard. God can speak any language, but for me, Bob Dylan is a language, extraordinarily spoken by the Creator. 🌹🌿🌸🌿🌹

4:20 of pure Bob bliss, you aren't left wanting for anything after this, musically. This song is like a novel, with every word and note precisely and sparsely chosen for maximum effect, and finished far too soon to warrant anything other than starting it over immediately to make sure you didn't miss any nuance. It is like this song was Meant and Waiting to be written by this muse.

High people. I´m a German and I´d like to state that - in my opinion - Bob Dylan and Richard Wagner are the two most outstanding geniuses in music. If Bobby could allow me to extend one line in this song my proposal was to sing "... look at that sun sinking like a BURNING ship." I know it´s harder to keep the flow of rhythm with it, but it makes that picture appear much more powerful. Greetings to all followers of Bob and long life for him. Some of his greatest lyrics are on this album. They may not contain the spellbinding pyrotechnics of Highway 61 & Blonde On Blonde, etc, but they've matured along with the man. Tangled Up In Blue is a fine example. It's an irresistible novella! Thoroughly deserves his Nobel Prize in literature (although I'm sure he thought it all as mostly just pomp & circumstance!).

Just like Rodger Whittaker, this is the ultimate morning song to your breakfast. Just sets your day up doesn't it.

Anyone think he gave a little nod to the old blues song little red rooster with the lyrics about the rooster and hound dog, heck even the actual beat is reminiscent of it and the delivery of the lyrics, love it

There’s a great story about that steel guitar solo (Buddy Cage) in Phil Ramone’s book, Making Records: The Scenes Behind The Music (2007).

The artistic genius of this incredible man can't be understated he's a poet very misunderstood by the masses and probably by myself as well.Guess its long passed time trying to figure out something that may Not be there at all and just enjoy his 50 plus years musical magic. So sit back and spin some of the best damm music of your and my life. Peace Love

Also, the clarity of "Blowing in the wind" on that adverts is astonishing. By we guys at Columbia clearly understood they had something on their hands. Now it can live on forever x
