You can’t fault these guys for their enthusiasm. They were good sports throughout the whole thing and still seemed positive at the end

Uncalled for pisstaking of these two honest blokes who have a good product.

For anyone that’s had to lift a man hole that’s not come out for a couple years, it isn’t easy so I completely understand the concept and meaning it can be a 1 man job makes a massive difference

I love how the guy who DIDN'T do the manual task was more sweaty than the guy who did. Really proves the product works lol

When he said at the end "We had a go" I respected him a lot because so many act arrogant when they fail and take shots at the dragons or clearly demostrate they have not listened to a word. I hope they didn't end up wasting their cash but hats off to them for showing good character when faced with failure.

How rude was that opening statement by Peter. “Is there something wrong with you”.

It's weird how sometimes the Dragon's are selectively super harsh for no reason. "You look knackered" - the guy is visibly upset at the end when he taps his mate on the back.

Me: *my drain is stuck* Kardoctor: *get an easy lift drain*

Bob: Do you know how many drains are fitted a month? Well do you? Kelly: No Bob: Thousands That killed me 😂😂

If there was anybody on Earth who could have sold this idea, it was these two guys.

Before coming on, they really needed to have done some enquiries with local councils and drainage companies to see if it would potentially sell at that price.

Dragons don't like it when you have no enthusiasm, then this guy comes along.

I want Bob to pitch my business. Awesome enthusiasm and confidence.

Bob had such an admirable attitude to one of the most simplistic of inanimate objects, love his passion despite being beyond reach of human justification 💯

In fairness it is a good idea. But not worth the cost to replace existing covers. I used to work as a drain cleaner and this would have helped in a about 10 to 20% of covers I had to lift.

My favourite bit is right at the end closing out the final interview! Love these guys, hope for great things for them!

I'm very disappointed with the dragons on this one. Bob and Steve have a great idea. Having been a paving contractor for many years, I can honestly say this is a time saving, back braking saving good common sense product. Anyone who has had to lift a block paved drain cover that hasn't been lifted for a couple of years would tell you how difficult it is! I reckon the man would be emotional at the end! I really do hope they have been successful with it. Does anyone know?

i wish these men every success. Good honest people with a great little idea but just needed someone with the right contacts. Wishing them well. There are not many good people left in the world. Shame on anyone making fun of them. You try standing in front of the dragons and having the brains to invent something and come on tv to get investment. its not as easy as it looks.

This concept will eventually be commonplace for all new drain installations. I can't imagine a way it could ever be retro fitted to drains that are decades old though, unless some sort of frame is custom made for every single one. That would be wildly expensive.

GPO Telecome back in the day spent thousands of pounds developing a service box cover lifter and transport wheeled frame jacking system. The GPO engineer who did design it tried to get the patent for the system. But because he designed it in GPO time the patent was theirs. Covers in the roadway get hammered tight and road dust etc. sets the covers solid. So often the frame gets damaged in the process of lifting the covers by other means. Then the frame needs to be renewed and reset in the road. Or the damaged frame is quickly refitted and forgotten about until the next time it needs to be removed.

That look on Steve’s face in the end. 😂

I can remember Duncan investing in a lady who "invented" a magnet line to go through a wall hole.. and sells it for £16. I cured that problem 30 years ago and did that for £1 but Duncan thinks the magnet is the best thing since sliced bread.... I had the same problem with a drain and not only it's heavy and does your back... it also damages the patio blocks... the man hole idea is better then the magnet idea...

Genuinely nice blokes just got pummelled....loved the ending...Bobby-Bobsta got emotional patted Stevie P on the back and left him hanging like a deer in front of a bright light....priceless

I thought some of the Dragons were unnecessarily rude. They could have been let down rather more kindly as they clearly really believed in their product and seemed decent guys.

Episodes like this are what put me off of this show. I understand berating and humiliating slick guys who come into the Den and lie about the figures or misrepresent their business or otherwise need to be taken down a peg. But blokes like this who are genuine, affable, honest about their numbers, who see a problem and design a solution. If the space is niche and the Dragons don't see margins big enough to make the investment worthwhile, fine it's their prerogative to decline investment. But JFC they don't deserve mockery and discouragement. Personally I hope these guys build something they can survive on and have a good laugh together.

Well I know for a fact by the amount of roadworks now that these drains dont last 120 years. They are always refitting them.

Bob and Steve went on to develop a multinational trillion pound empire selling DIY toenail painting kits to extremely lanky blokes.

There are already drain cover lifting dollies and frames with casters that allow one person to easily lift a heavy old style drain cover.

Bob is very optimistic.

I dont think the concept is dead. I think the design is. The need is to create easy removal of a man cover. So a lever system that can be used on current man covers would be cool

It is true, drains in commercial properties and public places require 2 contractors, and are very heavey to lift, a lot of the time they ruin the floor around when using the conventional external screw system... this would save money and effort and reduce health issues with contractors. There are drains that need to be opened every other month for maintenance purposes. I think the dragons weren't familiar with those issues involved, and the pitch wasnt strong enough.. it maybe boring, not colourful, unfashionable, wont be baught by the public on a daily bases, but it is indeed useful and it could revolutionise an industry.
