Calton Coffie was a Jamaican vocalist who rose to prominence for his work in the Jamaican-based recording act Inner Circle but had also recorded as a vocal soloist. People often think that it’s Bob Marley who sings his song Sweat (A la la la la long). Thank you for doing this positive feature on my father, may he continue to ascend in heaven and justice for his contributions continue to rightfully place him in history and his legacy be magnificent as the talent he was to this world and in his time. As his daughter Eruth, I am grateful for your acknowledgement as he would be.

Carlton Coffie slotted so seamlessly into the Inner Circle set up, it was relatively easy to forget Jacob Miller. In any case Coffie's tenure with the band coincided their most successful period. That's for sure...Born in the UK of Jamaican parents and moved back to Jamaica at an early age to join IC.....

Bob Marley is not mistaken with anybody. He's unique...however, I have heard some people that when they listen UB40, they ask if it's Bob Marley

Thanks for your feedback but have you ever had the chance to listen to Joseph Hill of Culture and this artiste name Spiritual? How about Kenyatta Hill? Garnett Silk and Ras Shiloh, Peter Tosh and Andrew Tosh?

I agree with you..Though we may have almost indecipherable differences amongst some singers, Bob's delivery is unique. Even in Ziggy's budding years i could never mistaken his voice with Bob's...Same goes for U-Roy and I-Roy....

People mistake Calton Coffie for Bob Marley never knowing that Calton Coffie was a songwriter and vocalist who stands on his own merits as a Grammy Award Winner. It’s not to take away from Bob who he also knew as well as the Marley family. I know because I used to travel to see his Mother and met some of the Marley sons…Calton’s daughter Eruth. His legacy will continue to grow and highlight his magnitude as a entertainer.

There was another voice that sounds like Bob marley earlier his/ (Majek) career from Africa, though he cant do it 100%. But many unseen & seen pushed his road south. Listen to his version of Redemption song. He was also a world guitarist like Bob, Bobs children acknowledged him before sadly he. Majek passed away.
