The shallow and contrived will never see or feel that. Maybe not even care to notice. But for those that do, it is a joy to observe and quite a notion to pontificate upon. He’s still the only human I’ve seen to become a song. This man’s heart was something undying and to marvel at. There are ongoing levels throughout my entire life of love and healthy admiration for his pleas. We need Bob now more than ever as a great deal of you are terrifyingly just downright awful. Maybe I am too but I don’t aim to be.
Such a small island, and yet one man manages to inspire so many people all over the world with his music. Eskimos, Japanese, Russians, people who don't even understand the language, they all love and know Bob Marley's songs... It is the message, the content and the conviction of the singer that you feel. Happiness, love and clarity. Bob my friend, you have touched something Divine. And you shared it.
Eskimo here. I can confirm we listen to BM during the cold nights. This song is especially memorable when we be JAMMIN' our spears into seals for food. Thank you BM!
I saw Bob Marley and the Wailers LIVE at the Santa Barbara County Bowl in 1976. The geatest live concert I ever saw. And I saw Jimi Hendrix live 3 times. The Marley concert I saw is basically the same as the 1977 London live recording you are listening to, minus 3 songs from the Exodous album, which had not been released yet. RIP Bob Marley -- the greatest of all time.
@@mogahedsalol It was not really luck. I was the right age at the right time, and I knew great music when I heard it. So I went and bought a ticket and went by myself from L.A. to Santa Barbara (not really that far) and went to see my favorite band. And they exceeded all my expectations. Marley was a true genius and showman.
I recently discovered Bob Marley, I'm 13 years old and I am really sad that he passed away because I wanted to meet him and just shake his hand and say thank you...
It was in June 1976, a year before this concert here, in Offenburg, Germany. My friend and I attended the Sunrise Open Air Festival headlining some of the greats of that time: Scorpions, War,Kinks,Alvin Lee and Wishbone Ash . When everything was over and the crowds of 20.000 were heading towards the exits, announcements were made that for those chosing to spend the night on the festival grounds a band from Jamaica would perform a few songs. So together with about 500 people we stayed on since we were planning to hitch-hike to Paris the next morning. Then this guy with a hairdo I had never seen before together with background singers dressed in colorful robes and very strange stage decorations came on stage. We had never seen or heard anything like it before. Everything seemed strange and foreign to our eyes and ears so that we couldn't make any sense of it at the time. This was my first encounter with Reggae music and we had just witnessed the very first concert of Bob Marley & the Wailers in Europe !
My dad has played Bob ever since I was a little baby, for me as a non-black person and a wasian he raised me to not be racist. My dad always said to me when I was little that, “it’s not the skin color that matters it’s ur soul, mindset and heart”. #Blacklivesmatter
No back the live versions were so much better than the records. I saw the eagles farewell tour in Chicago and it was the same thing, the guitar solos for every song were just mesmerizing just like how I imagine bob Marley was 😭
I've been to a whole lot of concerts, but, Bob Marley and The Wailers were truly another level. It was the most beautiful, serene, spiritual experience I've ever had at a concert. I truly can't describe how he had the entire audience in a trance. I'm really choked up and have tears in my eyes just thinking about it and watching this.
Thats me wit the last eagles concert in Chicago those guitar solos had me mesmerized and I wasn’t even that drunk. Truly can never forget that experience tbh
He challenged the thinking with his music and despite the threats, despite his own health, pushed the message of love. There is room in this present day, messed up world for a multitude of Bob Marleys.
Vive les Caraïbes ou le "Reggae" a été créé, ce qui fait la fierté de nos peuples de ces belle îles qui s'y trouvent et aussi la fierté de l'Afrique noire❤❤❤
It’s amazing to think of the influence that Bob Marley had. Before cancer took his life at the age of 36, Marley positioned as the one of the biggest musical icons in history.
Sorry, but I think the Movie absolutley SUCKED. I saw Marley live. The movie never captured that at all. They just talked in such ridiculously put-on thick Jamacian accents that the film really needed subtitles. I went with my kids telling them how much I loved the real Bob Marley. We all hated the film. And the actor who played him was 3 shades too white to even look like Bob.
Ooh, yeah! All right! We're jammin': I wanna jam it wid you. We're jammin', jammin', And I hope you like jammin', too. Ain't no rules, ain't no vow, we can do it anyhow: I'n'I will see you through, 'Cos everyday we pay the price with a little sacrifice, Jammin' till the jam is through. Bob Marley is jamming in my mind...I heard him in 1973 when I was overseas in the Navy and a friend of mine played his LP s like "Natty Dread " and Exodus..Turned my head around about Reggae music..Gone way too soon. 🎶🌠
Just watched the movie last night with my father and brother. Great message from the movie and the message was the Love and our hearts keep spreading the love. Rest in peace Bob One love 🙏🏽❤️
Work was a shit show today, put this on as I was driving home! Soon as Bob said Allllllriiiiiiiight! I immediately get chills. At this point I’m in a happy mood. Walked into the house singing!
I am in awe to see and hear how The Wailers connect with their instruments and provide the world with great music! There will never ever be another group that will come as close to Bob marley and the Wailers! Jammin to this here in Fiji 🇫🇯
Insanely talented song writer. People dont even realize how great he was. He made punk songs wih reggae music. Its insane. Peter Tosh is underrated too. He could jam like a mofo too
This must have been the first time that most people at the concert had heard the song as the Exodus album had only been released the day before, hence the missing cheer of recognition when Bob starts to sing.
No offense but the band with Peter Tosh and Bunny Wailer were way superior. They had practiced on the street corner for years! Some of the best songs had Peter singing lead although clearly Bob was the leader.
true artistic magicians.. the music carries a very heavy energy. and Bob’s voice and presence carry a strong spirit. it’s the perfect combination to get a message across with.
What is Jammin? Let me tell you what the Messiah Nesta Robert Marley was actually saying since most Jamaican has Ghanaian roots. Jamaica also has a strong potency of magic (Obeah) in the West Indies other than Haiti (New Orleans in North America). Many are unaware Bob Marley, the powerful "Duppy Conqueror," had the 'special gift' as akin to obeah practice. He was taught by his maternal-grandfather Omeriah Malcolm from the linage of the Coromantee of Ghana. Bob was one of the greatest practitioner in the Americas. Bob Marley in his ancient wisdom implanted his mystical Obeah power into every single one of his songs and like the Christ of the Bible, he also sings (speak) in Parables. In the language of Akan from Ghana, the term 'Kom' ('Chul' in Hebrew means skip, leap, to bear, whirl, dance) is the verb form while Akom (Ma'chol in Hebrew) is the noun form. This is referring to King David dancing before the lord with all his might in 2 Samuel 6:14 since he was obviously possessed via ritual prayer, song, chant, incantation. The Hebrew Tavah (Taw-vaw) is the same as the Akan N'twaho (En-TWA-hoe) meaning 'To Spin' as in the ritual spinning movements that Akomfo (priests) perform during Akom (possession dance, ritual). Even King Saul experienced this in 1 Samuel 10:6-12 when the 'spirit of the lord' came upon him and he prophesied (Sing by inspiration; Naba in Hebrew) among the prophets (Prophets were Musicians/Poets). Thus, Saul was "turned into another man" because during this possession the Obosom (Deity) once in the body of the person (Priest) in Akan culture dances, wielding its power by generating a vortex or field of energy through sacred movement. The community is then drawn into the orbit of the Deity during possession. The Deity (within the body of a person via possession) will also walk around, touch people, speak to them, PROPHESIED, lay hands to heal them and more. The okomfo, a class of priest - one who is in the kom (possession) state - is possessed by the Deity. The white clay, Hyriew, is thrown on the body of the okomfo denoting that Spirit is now inhabiting the body. Therefore, the song 'Jammin' from Bob Marley is speaking about black people (Chammon or Ham in Hebrew and Kam in Egypt=Children of God because we have a 'Ka') being possessed (Kom=Jam) by a deity (Your Soul) via ancestral ritual music. Hence, "No bullet can stop us now" because once possessed by an Abosom the Priest performed amazing feats such as jumping into sacred fire and not getting burned, cutting/stabbing themselves and never bleeding or penetrating the skin. Deities (within the body) often spin or turn in a circle for very long periods of time and never fall or trip which shows the strength of the Deity. Howver, Bob is not like most Priests in Ghana (Akomfo, Abosomfo, Adebisafo) who needs to call upon multiply Orishas (Deities or Abosom) since He is the long awaited Messiah (Spirit of Ausar/Osiris; Story of Jesus is grafted from Him). Thus, He only needs to invoke Jah (KA in ancient Egypt is the Shadow/Divine Consciousness of the Soul) and Teferi (Ras Tafari comes from the Egyptian term Rastau and Deity Apep). "Once the soul has awakened, called by beauty, it leaps up dancing. Then its every movement makes a picture, whether in writing, poetry, music or whatever it may be. A dancing soul will always express the most subtle and intricate harmonies in the realm of music or poetry."― Hazrat Inayat Khan, Volume X, Sufi Mysticism gyazo.com/d09c172175153ebd006adc14665f9921 - Kom in Akan means to dance wildly in the state of frensy or ecstasy. This is the true meaning of the word Jammin. Hence, to Jam or Jam session means a gathering or performance in which musicians play together informally without any preparation (Freestyle): a session in which musicians jam with each other.
