Bob Nelson at Dangerfields comedy Club Bob Nelson is a good friend of mine.. This is a rare video of him back in the day. His act now is clean, so this is a video of him in rare form! Enjoy!
Here is is.. exclusive interview with the legendary comedian Bob Nelson! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-t3NN0Gr2EZU.html #bobnelson #cameo
I agree this is funny. But how many poor bastards are now destitute, penniless, homeless, etc. because they took up boxing in the 70's & 80's, taken advantage of by unscrupulous promoters like Don King, and now can't even remember, or pronounce their own name.
Crashburn 32 Dice Clay literally became the most wanted comedian in the country the day after he appeared on this show. He recently talked about it on Rogan’s podcast. Rodney was the best
I first saw this guy in our VHS recording of the first Dangerfield's Young Comedians special where he did his football bit. My folks put it on one night and actually called me to come in and watch with them (I was one of those lucky kids whose parents weren't at all restrictive over what I watched - they even showed me the R-rated version of Revenge of the Nerds when I was 7 yrs old 😆) - it was the first time I'd ever laughed myself to the point of making my side sore. So when I first saw this Jiffy Jeff routine - like 25 yrs later - it blew my mind that all this time Bob Nelson had done a whole other performance at Dangerfield's that I somehow NEVER came across! I laughed myself into soreness all over again! 🤣
I don't care what anyone says, as far as I know, Bob Nelson never had a bad night! This guy was always on point and his timing was absolutely amazing. Even today, so many years after I originally watched this, I am laughing hysterically! I simply don't know why Bob Nelson wasn't bigger than he was. This man was so much better than guys who got their own shows and somehow got huge. I'm not trying to be a dick to other comics, but I will take the Bob Nelson of yesterday over most comics of today.
Bob Nelson is the best! I have this on vhs from an HBO special...... back in the 80’s I believe. Transferred it to dvd so nothing would happen to it. Can’t even guess how many times I’ve watched it. Would love to meet him sometime.
I've been a fan of this guy's football bit since I first saw it as a kid on a VHS recording of that Dangerfield's show (yes, my folks let me watch it at age 8.) I didn't always get a lot of the humor most of the comedians on that special did (other times I THOUGHT I got it, but upon watching it again as an adult I realize how naive I really was back then :P) However, Bob Nelson was the comedian whose humor I had ZERO trouble understanding, and in watching this again, I still enjoy the hyperactive energy he has while doing his routines. He's clearly having a lotta fun playing his characters and enertaining everyone there. :D It made me pass out from laughter as a kid, and still does as an adult! ^_^ I wonder what he's getting up to these days...
There were a bunch of guys on this special. Recorded it when it aired. Townsend, Seinfeld, Dice...Sam I think also he might of been on another Dangerfield special.
I remember watching this act of his on TV many years ago... I laughed sooo hard that first time... That was a time when commercials weren't funny as a general rule of thumb. Matter of fact most things weren't funny back then which is what made Comedians on late night TV so enjoyable... that and the other fact that most of them were funny, unlike a lot of what we see on TV today.
This is priceless comedy, absolutely brilliant. I couldn't care less about whether it's PC now or not. PC can go take a running jump! If something is funny...…………..it's funny!! I'm assuming the 104 idiots that didn't like this are members of the PC brigade.
By the way, Nelson's "Jiffy Jeff" routine is now my favorite. I first saw this bit in 2009 and had no idea it ever existed until then :P He's just so much more animated here, most cartoon-like sometimes. And that style suits his style of humor REALLY well.
This trend on RU-vid of people saying "This kind of comedy wouldn't be possible nowadays"... Yes, some comedy would be very difficult to do in this day and age but to put that comment under this video doesn't make sense. There's nothing to see here that wouldn't be possible nowadays.
I think I saw him on a comedy show (taped) one afternoon, something like 15-20 years ago. He related the Red Skelton story. The show was filmed in a bowling alley and they were doing improv it seemed. One of them did Rocky, maybe it was Bob. Too bad he's not in Branson these days. I might have had a chance to see him perform live.
Da Flyboys is Charlie the comedian he completely ripped his routine off of ! , ? Is Charlie the guy that was always on the Dean Martin Roasts ? Cause this is not funny ! He completely stole his whole shtick !
I remember back in the day when Bob Nelson was at amateur nights at a place called Richard Dixon's the white house inn what a awesome talent then and now
The Brain Damaged Prizefighter got Bob on Carson and is a fondly loved classic. Actually he did more times and honed it even better than here till it was perfection and THEN did it on Carson.
"Smart thing for me to do.. daaaa" was brilliant and hilarious, because the 'daaa' was quieter and lower, indicating he had done something stupid, and he was painfully remembering it, unlike the others that showed he was currently stupid.
Were the ethnic stereotypes in his humor the thing that has kept him from being considered one of the all-time comedy greats? That is a shame, but so typical..nevermind that he made fun of everyone.. Stuff you could get away with five years ago, would be considered an aggression today with just thinking about putting it in a set, a microagression. Sheesh..
@@Joeteck "Rare" means "seldom occurring or found" - I can find it any time. I think what you mean is "exclusive" - limiting or limited to possession, control, or use by a single individual or group. That's what owning the rights does.
Bibs a freaking riot! I love him! Whatever happened to him? Love his Japanese airplane pilot routine. Why do New Yorkers have to be so pushy annoying and swear so much? This comes from experience of living there for over ten years and being around them for many years.
Depends on how old you are and if you had HBO ad a kid. Hes been in many movies back in the 90s. Didn't make it as big as most, but did ok. Hopefully i can do an interview with him to explain everything
