Definitely...just like his dad Steve had his own approach to his paintings. In my opinion Steve was a chip off the old block. It definitely would be kewl if Steve ever did a joy of painting series honoring his dad's legacy!!!

I don't know what I am doing Anymore When His Dad died, at first , Steve stuck around and continued working, but He didn’t inherit anything from the paint supply empire which was offputting considering the amount of effort He put in over the years. He swore off painting and lives back East and doesn’t want to be found.

Bob always mentioned that his son surpasses him when it comes to doing mountains. I agree. Steve is more thorough and nuanced with his mountains. The have more depth.

But he's WAY behind Bob in all other areas. Bob is a classically trained artist who better understands light, color theory, shape, etc. Steve does very basic techniques over and over without much regard for artistic thought. His mountains are exceptional though.

You can tell he didn't wanna do it. He keeps messing up his speech and clears his throat, but he became a lot more confident around the time he looked like Jake The Snake Roberts. Bob Ross Inc. did him dirty, but I'm glad he found peace simply teaching folks how to paint.

Steve is much more clinical with his instructions. Bob tends to anthropomorphize a lot of the elements of his paintings, but with Steve, a tree is just a tree and clouds are just clouds - they aren't happy and they don't have friends. His instructions are really clear and easy to understand, but there's a reason that Bob had a TV show and Steve never did.

I remember hearing that Bob wanted Steve on the show more often, and Steve didn't like being on the show - it wasn't his thing. Steve was also offered to take over Bob's show after Bob's death and he turned it down.

i forreal clicked on this video when i saw steve because i thought it was someone parodying bob ross. then i thought maybe it was when he was young. then i watched the video and saw bob ross introduce his son steve. it all makes sense to me now.
