Thank you so much for this video. Love seeing different brushes used and how to properly load them is a huge help, that you don’t see in a lot of videos Amazing painting as always
INCREDIBLE Bram!!!!!!! I love doing winter scenes the most. hope you dont mind if I try this one? I LOVE using that brush. makes the best trees and brush with details. LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!
Pushed a little too hard and cut right through my canvas with the painting knife. All is good though. Still got to use the canvas to practice techniques. Loved the video and the painting you did.
Beautiful thank you BRAM very clear instructions and you make it easy to paint along ,although I always watch all the way through first ,but that's because I am a complete beginner, have you a simple sea scape To demonstrate ? Keep up the fantastic work 👏 regards from London England 🇬🇧
I followed this today, definitely improved my foliage, I had the brush but had no idea how to use it until I watched this. Thank you sir, I have shared this on Facebook fans of Bob Ross page

Hi Bram, that’s a lovely picture and we’ll done. Two questions - what size is the canvas and how do I make “mountain mix colour”? Great tutorial and you make it easy to follow, limited palette helps too. Thank you for all the great tips…I’m still learning. Alice
Thank you so much for these informative videos! My husband and I have learned a lot! Are you using Bob Ross paints? Our Bob Ross paints are a lot thicker than yours. We have issues with high lights and I think you have helped us!! Planning to paint this painting! Thanks Again
Yes, all the colors I use are Ross paints. Paint consistency changes over time and the company has changed manufacturers so that may be the difference. Glad these are helpful!
Hi Bram, great tutorial… hope to try this one. As you haven’t mentioned I’m wondering did you cover canvas with liquid white first. Also is the size 12 x 16”? Thanks so much for great tutorials. Alice
I got my hand on a half round brush and did a painting with it. You’re right, that it’s a lot easier than the 1 inch for bushes. One issue though is the color isn’t coming out as cleanly, the bristles are tinted with a blue color in comparison to the 1 inch.
Do you mean that after you highlight for a bit your brush is picking up the base color? If so, your highlight color is too thick. Try adding a bit more liquid white or clear or a tiny amount of thinner.
Bob would use different mixes but you can make it with pthalo blue, vd brown, crimson, black and some pthalo green. Its just a dark base color that looks lavenderish when mixed with white.
