@@huskeeloins Yeah I played with him for one year. He was a senior my freshman year. He was such a great guy to be around. Even though he was a senior with a lot of notoriety he was always cool to me. Keep in mind there are over 100 guys on the team and the difference between an 18 year old freshman and a 22 or 23 year old senior is huge, both physically and in terms of maturity. At times it was like being around your old brother and his friends. I never saw Bob talk down to people or like punk someone for no reason. We had a few guys who were total jerks to the younger guys, walk-ons, training staff, cafeteria workers, etc. I never saw Bob do any of that. He was just a genuinely nice guy. Every year at the start of camp we would do this really difficult conditioning test to see who was in shape and who wasn't. Each position ran as a group while everyone else watched. The offensive and defense linemen went first and my group was going to be second so I was standing there getting ready. When it came to the last rep Bob yells out "LAST ONE, LET'S GO!!" and then he rips his shirt off like Hulk Hogan. Despite being well over 300 pounds he had a six pack and looked like he was chiseled out of stone. I remember asking one of the coaches if he played o-line or d-line and being very relived to learn that he played o-line, which meant I wouldn't have to go up against him. The craziest part is he could run too!
