not many songs i can play over and over-and feel and get something different in emotions and feelings each time..but this is one of them! I remeber my uncle taking me down by a river stream-and then years later-i took my son down by a different river stream..totally cool..
Wasn't at the river but at the lake with my brother yesterday.. It was just what I needed.. Everything fell in place..I have been so confused... But the serenity and peace and time with him put it all together.. I am finally at peace.. I am ready to move forward now!

I grew up on Michigan's inland rivers...most are small and slow and quiet. I can remember a timeless, one with the universe feeling while being on them. And then some people would come along or you see some trash and you realize we really aren't good for the planet. All the other animals live in symbiosis...why did we have to lose that ? It's a shame.

I have canoed down that river many times, its always the most peaceful trip I love it, if you went down that river any time in the 90,s and earlier from grayling you would have passed by Doug Fosters homestead he was a great guy he had a home that looked like a log cabin with a rock wall by the river, he always had either native American or bagpipes playing on a cd right by the river some times he would wear a kilt other times a native head dress (some times both at the same time).
Bob always reminded me of my uncle marvin. i sure miss him , and my sweet niece nel nel who lost her life way to soon! i love my family so much it kills me!!!!!

Seen Bob last night in Pittsburgh. His final tour. Sad sweet memories. Hes been there my whole life with a song for so many occasions. Ill alwaus be a fan... End to an era
My grandfather saw his last show of the 2017 tour, in Pittsburgh. He was dying of cancer, it was his last outing. He LOVED Bob, and I grew up hearing this... was also a skilled fisherman. That show was September 28th. My grandfather passed November 3rd 2017. Just lost my best friend on November 5th this year. He held me together through the passing of my grandfather. Still very messed up about my Pap, doubly so now that my friend is gone. Bob is keeping me together. Songs like this... feels like he (Seger) witnessed our lives.

@passions1959 Carole don't give up hope. Return to the river for a walk, fly fish like I do, skip rocks on the water or just sit and listen to it's soothing babel. Let it help you heal your troubled heart, mind and soul. Those old feelings are still there no matter what others may think or do. Let the tranquility of nature help you find them again. I been there, Hunting deer in my youth! My uncle had a cabin there, and it was so spiritually beautiful, I forg there for....and the memory never left! I was born in MICHIGAN, but nothing is like "THE NOTH WOODS OF MICHIGAN!"
