Bob Seger's voice is a force of nature. Immense talent. My favorite song of his, even beyond this, is "Main Street".

Saw him back in the mid 80s on his tour. He opened his tour in the summer at DTE (Pine Knob), and finished at Joe Louis. Attended the first and last concerts of the tour. :)

One of the very best story tellers in music. Many nights as a teen in deep thought in my room listening to Bob Seger on my stereo. Together we solved many problems

Bob Seger and the silver bullet band are legendary. This is his biggest hit, and his most famous song. This song is about the teenage high school years. When we looked forward to the summertime and no school. And dreaded the autumn and another school year. Yet through it all. We found time for relationship, and all that comes with it. Like finding time to make love. Brings back memories of my youth. And the wild times of being young, restless and bored. Awesome Choice for a reaction video.

Its cool to me how he describes stages of life as seasons of the year. Night moves and teenage years were summertime, then at the end he wakes and hums a song from 1962. He says autumn is closing in, so he is now late middle aged.

I grew up in Ontario 60 miles from Detroit and the amazing music that came from that place, with CKLW Windsor regularly playing his Detroit anthem, Heavy Music. Back then, it was Bob Seger and the Last Heard, became the Bob Seger System and then The Silver Bullet Band. We used to go watch Bob, Mitch Ryder, the MC5 and a host of other great musicians at the Upper Deck at the Rooster Tail. I was in the car the first time I heard Night Moves and ran right out and bought the album. I played it right through and never heard a moment short of brilliant.

I recommended this one to you folks once or twice, I can't remember for sure. However, your honest reaction to a song encompassing how we go from young feckless love in the summertime of our lives, to ultimately settling down as the autumn years close in seeking real love. Has an honest and genuine feel to it. I recommend the following to you both. Bob Seger - You'll Accomp'ny Me Chris Isaak - Wicked Game Sugar Ray - Someday

Seger is a great songwriter and storyteller (late 70s-early 80s). ...workin' on mysteries (sex) without any clues (sexual experience) ...and it was summertime (youth)...sweet summertime, summertime (young summer lust) ...felt the lightning (sexual climax)...waiting on the thunder (love) ...strange how the night moves...with autumn closing in (middle age, reflecting back on youth) This song was released in the US when I was a child and it was a great song. Now I'm middle-aged and I think this song is brilliant.

The Night Moves album is 5 stars all the way. I grew up 60 miles from Detroit and we listened to Seger all the time on CKLW radio, where it seems the theme song was "Heavy Music", from Bob Seger and the Last Heard. I remember seeing him at the Upper Deck at the Rooster Tail and at Kenwick on the Lake in Sarnia. If you live anywhere within a few hundred miles of Detroit and you're at a wedding and suddenly Old Time Rock and Roll comes on, there won't be one square foot of space left on the dance floor.

Thanks for this song. Haven't heard in awhile. Quite nostalgic. Great breakdown and discussion of the lyrics. I agree with the other comment "Turn the Page" is also a great tune. A have to ask you two. How many headphones do you two have and in how many colors. Very cool colors in the backdrop. Is that photoshoped change in colors? For your consideration - Lenard Cohen "Everybody knows" - Warren Zevon "Disorder In The House" w/Bruce Springsteen, Warren Zevon "The Hockey Song" & "Carmelita" - Johnny Cash "The Man Who Couldn't Cry" All right you two. Keep on keeping on.

Try the tune, Main Street. Seger wrote the song for a woman he never met. Also try the tunes from his live album. Especially, Nutbush City Limits, which is his remake of the Ike and Tina Turner song. Also, the live version of Turn The Page. Then try the tune, Get Out Of Denver and Roll Me Away.. Roll Me Away was used in the movie Mask.
