This song (or Love Generation) would likely be my first associations if someone asked me about my 2006. My peers and I (all around 15) went to Malta for a summer holiday and were able to get tickets to Bob Sinclar show who would promote his newly released Western Dream with gigs all across Europe. The funny thing was that we basically knew nothing about the artist -- couple of people would have before-mentioned songs on their phones and that would be it. We expected him to be a vocalist and to sing. Although, finding out he was a DJ instead did in no way ruin the experience. We didn't understand or know much about music at the time, probably even hadn't our musical tastes clearly realised but it felt so cool to come from a small town, basically on your own, and to arrange things by ourselves. It was an amazing night... And a football world cup definitely with its super dramatic final. I personally admired France but there were a lot of Swiss, Italian people there that one smartly would say he would root for Italy just to stay friends with people around you. Amazing trip, amazing summer, and bright year overall. A lot of nice memories and nostalgia...
