So happy to hear Boba is doing so well. I had a female cat who went through that, peed right beside me on my bed while looking at me!! She received about the same treatments too!! She never had a problem after that either. Lucky I had just read about it in a book I had picked up called "The Cat Bible". Something like that. It was a super easy read and taught me a lot, but I think you guys may know quite a bit already! You all take good care, sounds like you all are now doing good. Thanks for the updates too!!
I am so glad your cat recovered !! It's so much easier for female cats . Please don't feed dry foods !! It causes lower urinary tract disease, kidney failure, severe dehydration ,cancer . My late cats got lower urinary tract disease from kibble . I lost one of 'em for it. 💜🥁🐉🎤🎶💞
I totally agree and cringe when I see it!! I did about an 85% wet food and added kibble to it to satisfy her want for the kibble. She was a water drinker and then seemed ok. I appreciate your concern and comment.@@spark_6710
Happy Boba is feeling better! 😊 It was funny when you mentioned the window and he jumped up to look outside! That's Boba getting back to normal!😸 Rue may not be happy that he smells like the VET, but she will eventually remember her partner in crime and they will get into mischief again!😺🐱
Feel better, Bobalicious. We are praying for you. Thanks for the update. Sending healing vibes your way. How cute even baby is going to the vet with Boba. It's the only way to make it work out is by taking turns to catch up on sleep. ❤
Bless you for taking good care of Boba. He's one lucky cat. I have 2 boy cats, and that's one of my fears. I understand males are more prone to this. Thanks for keeping us updated.
Yes now we worry about Dobby too but he is VERY picky about food and very difficult to get to eat better foods :/ Thankfully Dobby has never had any signs.
So glad he's doing better & eating. That's great! Also, forgot to mention that Angel was also put on cosequin to help any inflammation. I kept him on that as well. 😊🧡🤗
That's bad ! My late cats got that issues ,too ! Dry foods ( kibble)caused lower urinary tract disease, I lost one of 'em for repeating it & he git both acute/ chronic kidney failures, distended bladder, etc. Worse . His partial colon started coming out from too much straining !! I started cooking home meals for 'em after nothing really worked including prescriptional foods ,one of 'em ,Tiger completely recovered !! But,Daniel had it back many times as he had some congenital issues( broken tail bone )which made him prone to the issue . Praying that your kitty will recover soon !!! 🙏 💜🥁🐉🎤🎶💞
If you are not seeing him drink water, he might not be . When my cat was like this I used a needle-less syringe or a medicine dropper to suck up water and then insert it into his mouth to get extra water into him. My cat was a wiliing participant. Just go slow, and be patient so experience is positive and he will see the syringe and not tense up. I hope he feels better.
Yea,me ,too !! The important thing is ,we do have to aim it at the inside cheek pouch ,so that it won't cause inhalation. Very very important, otherwise it can kill them if they swallow it in a wrong windpipe = lung !! 🫁 I used to give my cats baby electrolyte ,too & so as chicken thigh meat broth ( just water &chicken thighs extract = broth, no spices ) 💜🥁🐉🎤🎶💞
@@spark_6710Yes! I did the chicken broth too. I had a cat with FIV about 30 years ago who also wasn't drinking or eating. When he was first diagnosed, I don't know if he was depressed or what but he wasn't taking the meds and he wouldn't drink water. I made him some broth, and got it into him with the medicine dropper. After a few minutes he lapped up the broth himself. Of course the FIV was eventually fatal, but I did keep him alive a few more years after that. And of course we found out the hard way that FIV spreads to your other cats. My mother, wouldn't listen to me, (because I was teen at the time) that he needed to be separated from our other cats. I'm so glad Melissa and Nora have Boba in a separate room. Not that he's contagious, but they can monitor his litter, to see if he's urinating regularly. My other cat who was like Boba, had a constant urinary track infection. For the 12 years I had him, I watched him like a Hawk. I kept him separate from the other cats in my house when he was sick, so I could monitor him. But they are our babies...totally worth it.❤
Good afternoon ladies, baby and kitties too.🙏❤️👏🏻👏🏻🥰😺. Thank you so much for the update on Boba and I am so happy he is looking so good and seems quite happy too which also makes me happy as well.❤️🥰😺. He definitely seems to love being in that room by himself cause he is getting one on one attention from you and makes him so very special. I am also happy to know that you will know what to look for and he is smart enough to let you know too.👍🏻😺❤️. God bless you ladies, Boba and all of the other cats too. I always thought Dobby was a sweet cat and a very affectionate cat too. He is a good kitty brother to the human baby too which is wonderful. God bless you ladies and the cats too. Sue M. Very happy to hear Bobar is improving. I pray he will fully recover soon soon and that there will be no more blockages in the future. He is such a beautiful, loving cat. Get better sweet Bobar. Love and hugs. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
So glad your kitty is doing better. My cat had urinary crystals, which was resolved through surgery and she's been on special urinary tract food ever since--no recurrence thank goodness!--so I empathize with the angst and worry you have been going through. Hope everything continues to go well for Boba!! :)
My cat only pees once a day. Actually, he only ever wants to pee or poop outside, and refuses to use his perfectly clean unused box, so in extreme winter like now I have to stay attuned to his rhythms so that I can run out and help him dig a hole in the frozen ground for pee and poop; and in winter, it looks more like he pees or poops only once every 24-30 hours. Keep brushing him! Cats can only do 2 things to make themselves feel better when they're sick - barf, or wash themselves. So if you're brushing him, he thinks you're giving him medical care. My cat loves when I fuss over him when he gets sick or injured.
I've not had that issue with my kitties so I have no advice. A friend's corgi had problems with urinary tract stones which required surgery & a special diet. I'm glad Boba is doing better. My prayers & healing thoughts to you & your family.🙏💞
Well dear family, this is hard on everyone. I do not know if your vet has suggested a surgery where they shorten the urethra? But we had a a male kitty from a while back that this worked really well. So maybe there is a newer technique that has evolved to help little boy? So our thoughts are with you and Rusty, and I know that you will all pull through this…🐈🌟🐾🙏💝
That is an option but usually only when it happens over and over and over. As this is the first episode we wouldn’t go there yet. But we would consider if needed in the future. I’m so glad to hear that surgery worked so well on your kitty!
Melissa, I just found out about Precious Boba. I am so sorry…I have said Prayers every since. Boba’s a fighter. Take it from one who knows…feed him only his Prescription Diet, and only approved. No matter how much he tells you it is Ok. That should prevent this from happening again. This must have been very difficult for you, Melissa. Hugs to you and Boba, and lots of PRAYERS. 🌹❤️🙏🏻🤎
Prayers for your cat baby. I worry about my princess as she is giving me problem not going in her carrier so I can bring in for shots and nails. So doctor prescribed a liquid rx that begins with G. I will attempt to bring her in when our below zero weather breaks.
Tricks are ...put her blanket or toy ,something w her & your scents are on. And if the carrier has a door on the top ,it'll be easier ,but if not ,place it vertically & put her in vertically !! You wanna wear extra clothes or very thick durable jacket which can tolerate attacks from her nails !! Lol. I had to do that when my cats were alive .I used to clip their nails every two weeks ! It's not that hard at all !! I usually did whenever they were sleepy ! Lol 💜🥁🐉🎤🎶💞
Have they figured out what the cause is? When I saw the first video my immediate though was kidney stones, which really really freaking HURT!!!!! Those however can be controlled with diet going forwards. Hoping you get to the bottom of the issue quick and have a long term solution for Boba.
Aww... Little Boba Rusty 😢 Don't scare everyone again. You stay healthy sweetie 🙏 I can see where his tail hair had to be trimmed. It's okay buddy! It will be back in It's glory! 😂
Don’t ever worry about typos! Since I’ve had a baby I’m the Queen of typos 😂. It just means all the more to me that you took the time to respond when you are tired 🥰
