A good video. If you ever feel like expanding I’d love to see more bobbin cases paired with bobbins

Thanks for this, very informative. I totally agree about using the correct bobbin for the brand machine. I have a Janome, and quite often sewing shops sell generic plastic bobbins which look very similar but there are subtle differences and it does affect the stitch quality and the machine itself. So I only use the Janome "J" bobbin. When you were talking about the special bobbin cases for embroidery, which have a preset higher tension, just wanted to mention that there are also special bobbin cases for free motion quilting, which are set at a lower tension. Thanks again for your video, I find sewing machines absolutely fascinating. 😊

I’m from the U.K. I acquired a Bernina 930 record. A rare and wonderful machine but I did not know much about it. I had problems with the tension and bobbins etc… I discovered your channel when I was looking to solve a problem. Your videos are excellent and you explain things so clearly. I now understand where I’ve been going wrong and have now fixed those little problems. Many thanks for all your help. 👍 🇬🇧

Your videos are clear and concise with great, straightforward instruction. Thank you! I would love to see a basic how to with what to watch for in removing the housing on a sewing machine. Somehow I let thread get caught up on my machines turn wheel and I am afraid to sew with it again until this is removed. However, the week before Easter (with all my sewing projects backed up) there is no way I am going to get the one repair guy in town to fix my machine.

i think you are referring to bird nesting; if need be release needle 1st to help release tension, then just cut threads on top or bottom, using tweezer, gently tugging on thread to clear or cut stuck thread. clean out bobbin case area!!! rethread top thread, use a new needle; watch where you needle depth should be. match your project with the right needle, make sure your using same thread weight for top, and bobbin thread. follow your manual's guide. and sometimes you only have to rethread top threading guide!!!

I've been impressed with the quality and content of your videos. I'd love to see an in-depth explanation of skipping stitches when sewing zigzag. I notice in my case, most skipped stitches have failed to pick up the thread on the right side of the zigzag, and I wonder why the skipped stitches only happen intermittently and not continuously. And I've been confused my the tension adjustments necessary to get nice zigzag stitches. What is the impact of different orientations of the hook, vertical vs horizontal, oscillating vs rotary, front load vs top load vs end load?

Jack I have a 385 16 stitch Kenmore. I have been trying to get it up and running again with your help I have. Only when I started trying to sew a mask, I discovered my machine wouldn't do the reverse stitch. I have no idea what could be wrong do you? Please if you can't help me could you tell me where I could go to get some. Thank you, you've helped me a great deal so far. Thank you.

Would love to see a video on different type needles and how to matching thread, fabric and needle. I have a 1960s Kenmore and only one small type needle…often wondering if this could be contributing to some of my sewing problems? Also, what about universal needles? Thanks

I’ve got a pfaff 234-6/01-BS it was missing the bobbin case and bobbin when I aquired the machine. Where do I find these parts? I’ve tryed and gotten the incorrect parts. The bobbin case and bobbin I got were both too large

I have an older singer - and it has the older singer apollo case/ I cleaned it recently and when I reinstalled the bobbin case the hook won’t catch the bobbin thread and I can’t figure out why?! Is this a common issue?

Any good sewing machine shop should have them in stock for you. Should use a class 15.

My bobbin case has a hole to thread cotton through on the end of the spike but on the training video the instructor doesn't use it. Do you know what it's for?
@JackCreekRoad
@JackCreekRoad 2 года назад
It adds extra tension. So if you were going to do embroidery (if your machine is capable) you can run the thread through that eye.

No. You should be using a plastic Class 15 bobbin for best results.

My Singer came with class 15 plastic bobbins. Can I use class 15 metal bobbins?
@JackCreekRoad
@JackCreekRoad 3 года назад
You can, but there is often a magnet under the bobbin case that helps hold the case in and if you use a metal bobbin it may interfere with the bobbin threads feed.
