Many years ago during the Bloodletting tour, while we were sitting at our table in the small club that Overkill was headlining, a 21 year old me casually pointed out to my cousin that Bobby was hanging with the crowd. I must not have been that casual because Bobby noticed me pointing him out. He walked over from across the bar just to come shake my hand. The ironic thing was that I didn’t want to bother him because he was already swarmed with people, yet the guy took the time to come say hello. That’s a helluva humble man. I’m proud to say Bobby is still one of my heroes.

@@littlepunkpeople As much as I love the early stuff "Taking Over", etc), when I was a teenager, I was worried that the new songwriting team or guitarists on "Horrorscope" might not cut it like it Bobby Gustufson (AKA "Taking Over"). Instead that became a surprise favorite too. Saw them at Jaxx in Springfield, VA (DC area) on the tour of that album and they were great. They're also nice and autographed my CD too. PS-talkin about the New Jersey / New York thing, Mr Blitz,, there's a New Jersey style pizza place that I like to go to in Phoenix.(but of course we have our New York imitation places). Connecticut has their own spin on Pizza that I like too! (Mom's native area). Rock on forever, Overkill! PSPS--Great interview, dude. In addition to the music, only an interview like yours gets comments like "motor oil cologne." You hear about The Big Four, but then you have the big eight or ten like Overkill,Exodus Testament, etc. Death metal would not be here without those dudes. And it's still way too heavy for the mainsteam rock radio, ha ha ha.

I am really enjoying it. Great job as usual Elliot, this Fella, Bobby Blitz?, He is an outstanding interview! I dont know a lot about overkill, I've heard a little bit, I thought it was cool ( it's a different world for us who didnt have the internet growing up). I remember seeing badass older teenagers in the mid and late 80's always reppin Overkill wearing the t shirts. This guy is somone I cant imagine anyone not having a blast with, if he was in my family, I would look forward to Thanksgiving dinner. I had an uncle like him, coolest guy ever.Im gonna go catch up on Overkill, thank you!

Yeah the juice that you vape on comes in different levels of nicotine so you can gradually decrease the nicotine until you are weened off of it.

No matter what he says, Bobby IS a legend, and he is so genuine and so cool with the interviewer - who, by the way, is doing agreat job. You can tell that Bobby doesn't look down on this kid, but rather is enjoying every moment of it, being interviewed by a kid with interesting questions, rather than the same old by blasé'ed radio hosts (even though even THEY like Bobby so much, they make an effort). This interview is a nice change of pace from «when's the new album coming out», «explain the cover design», «hey are you joining the Big 4», whatever. Here, we here Bobby talk about his dogs, his life, his love of the outdoors and engines. Oh, and the kid can play along when Bobby improvises. Great interviewer.

Not even kidding, this was the hands down, BEST INTERVIEW, I've ever seen! I've met Blitz a few times and he's just an extremely nice guy, I'm really happy I got to see this. Probably some of the best questions I've ever seen asked too. Honestly I felt only I would talk about Lemmy, french fries, and farts in the same conversation.

I saw OVERKILL in the late 80's in Miami ... cant remember who they opened for that's how good they were. It is so cool to see that Bobby is such a nice down to earth egoless guy. Really impressed with Bobby and they way he respects Elliot and you can tell they have a friendship that is legit. Very Very impressed. Great interview Elliot !!!!

Played in a local band in Cleveland for quite a few years. We were able to open for Overkill 4 times. Definitely one of the best bands ever to play with and hang out with. Always cool and genuine and helpful. Always put on a great performance. Have always been and always will be one of my favorites. BIG E was always there too and always cool as well. If you've never seen Overkill live it's time you did.
