Florid State coach 1976-2009, we won't see that really often in today College Football. R.I.P. Bobby Bowden God Bless

Lifelong Seminole here. Bobby Bowden was a great coach. But what made him special was he was an even better man. Such a big heart. I honestly believe he is one of the few that actually care about changes young mens lives. We will never see another Bobby Bowden. Rest In Peace sir. Thank you for the memories!

@@Rudii0z you should really do your research. let me educate you. after the 2006 season, FSU President told him you need to fire Jeff Bowden or the elder Bowden could risk termination. then they wanted to start a succession plan. and Jimbo Fisher was brought in (against Bowden’s wishes) and was named Head Coach In Waiting (Bowden would’ve preferred Mickey Andrews but they wanted someone younger). if Fisher wasn’t named Head Coach by January 2011, he would receive 5 million dollars. from 2007 and on, Bowden signed yearly contracts. in November 2009, Bowden stated he wanted to coach in 2010 but that was up to the President. the President offered him two options. Option 1: you become the Ambassador Head Coach for the 2010 season. he wouldn’t be allowed to coach on the field and Jimbo Fisher would be making all decisions. in essence he’d be a figurehead with no power. Option 2: THEY WOULDNT RENEW HIS CONTRACT. he did not retire….he was fired. simple as that. 😂

@@Rudii0z Nah man. after the regular season of the 2009 season, he was told if he didn’t accept the Ambassador Head Coach position (he wouldn’t be allowed to coach on the field) then they wouldn’t renew his contract. to quote Bobby Bowden in 2010, “does that sound like i retired?”
