Many years back, when i was dumb deaf and blind, i used to believe that Masta Killa was wack, until i got self knowledge and a lot of his verses became clear to me. Especially his verse on triumph, which spoke about me and plenty others. PEACE 2 the GODS
I've heard Masta say the first verse he ever wrote in his life was the Mystery Of Chessboxing verse on 36 Chambers. Where the other members (you are correct it was mainly Gza) helped him was with his delivery. He was deadly with the lyrics from the first verse he ever wrote. He just couldn't deliver them smoothly and confidently until he got some practice. He said he had to record that first verse like 50-60 times before he got it right. The man is vicious on this track!
Yes. He says things that seemed flat out wack to me. He’s also put together bars that were flat out brilliant. Duel of the iron mic was my awakening. 5 stars, severe punishment, mantis, and assassination day was my confirmation.
"Break fool to this, madness, crazy low-hand Grabs the mic stand, smooth as water Spat Seven Seas you've not yet mastered Breathe and lungs wheeze, Earth kills I'm wrecking MCs, blood spills"
Got that album when it just came out, I lost it recently and I'm on the hunt to find a copy. This classic was ahead of its time… there can only be ONE Bobby Digital!
[Masta Killa] On behalf of the Wu-Tang Clan I'll display the Hong Kong, Shaolin King Kong poems Slaps niggaz in half from Kwan'tan Ten tigers scratch like Allah math, the Hell's Wind Staff Watch the eight diagram strike the diaphragm Pierced lung minute from tongue double-edged sound the drum, here I come as predicted Holdin the raw seal, all heads kneel 7th Degree black mic skill is ill, listen to the guns holler Swallow the shell, East New York terrorist Break fool to this, madness, crazy low-hand grabs the mic stand, smooth as water Spat Seven Seas you've not yet mastered Breathe and lungs wheeze, Earth kills I'm wreckin MC's, blood spills, meadow is round The piercin sound of silence deafens ears Fires fears, wood sharp eagle claw tears tree from bark, hard to maintain control When you leakin I stand with the strength of Jobe and hold pressure that'll bust your head, while I'm teachin civilization, one havin Knowledge Wisdom Understanding, culture refinement Knowledge savage in pursuit of happiness Thunderous mantis, all chant this
Nah..He says 'minute fong tongue'..Watch a shaolin flick called 'My life's on the line'..Minute Fong is an assassin that kills his enemies in 60 secs or less (60 sec assassin)..That dart is an absolute gem..AND..He says 'crazy Lo-Han'..Lo-Han palm is a very complicated Shaolin techniques that enables you to kill with literally ONE blow..Watch '18 jade claws of Shaolin' and you'll see what i mean..There are SO many film references in Killa's verse it's hard to keep up with lol...Peace
masta killa is one of the best mcs ever. most people don't know enough about rap to fully appreciate the complexity of what he's doing. Not to mention that his voice and flow are smooth as hell.
true true.. only the rza can make complex tracks like that... it's amazing how he puts so many sounds together... as one it is annoying... but in a combination its awesome wu tang forever
Hells with staff the wrath, the black titans niggas battling sword swinging cutthroat women , whirlwind given save the children escape the Poverty we live in, let live die by mic travel still by night. That shit is so deep on many levels.
i had this on tape and i lost it. i will get the cd soon. i got when it first came out. domestic violence all day; the b the o the b the b the y the d... ya'll get it. peace
An unheard mc/producer by many. And i for one like that. It means all these souldja boy, Lil wayne and flo rider fake listeners leave propper HIP HOP like this, to us. WU TANG.
The mantis style is very powerful when used properly.... it is such a beautiful form aswell. This track is SICKKK. You cant go wrong with martial arts and hip hop. Ill train to this no probs.....
my boy put me on to this cd as well. i always wanted to get but I ran across a lot of haters who would always tell me that it sucked and it was too wierd. Then one day I saw it at my boys crib and i asked him how good it was because i always liked rza verses on wu tang shit and i figured his solo album would have to be hard as fuck. he looked at me like, "yo you haven't heard bobby digital!" he let me borrow it and it was the only cd I played for like an entire year. my favorite album ever.
If i remember right this was track 8 on the album. I remember track 8 on a load of albums at the time were my favourite tracks. Especially Wu albums. Probably the most boring comment on u tube but just wanted to say that.
