conventional wrestling isnt as good as the type of wrestling islam and khabib use. They have mastered the art of restricting one of you arms when they take you down so while you use the other arm to try to build back up to your feet, they are just repeatedly punching you in the face. The moment you use the only available arm to make him stop beating your face in, you are now flat on the floor and ready to be choked🤣

Makhachev's SApM (Significant Strikes Absorbed per Minute) is 0.79. That's less than four strikes per round. His strike accuracy is 58%, and his strike defense is 70%. Strike defense is the % of opponent strikes that did not land. For comparison, Green's SApM is 3.65 (18 strikes per round), his strike accuracy is at 51%, and his strike defense is at 62%. Notice I'm only mentioning striking stats (they're from UFCStats), you all can intuit the difference in the grappling. The numbers suggest that Islam gets hit considerably less, defends better, and connects more. And he has been knocked out, an experience he's been careful to avoid. We all know that Islam is the superior wrestler and grappler, what the numbers say is that he is also the superior striker.

Green keeps his hands down all the time. He also keeps distance. It's a simultaneous striking and wrestling defense. The thing with Dagestani players, though, is that they may get 99 shots defended, but the 1 that gets completed finishes the fight.
