@@Cobra428SCJ I think they found the 88 and it being restore. Pretty sure it had a 74 body on it when found.

To make matters worse this stupid video at the 4 minute mark says that NASCAR banned the Daytona. In reality NASCAR handicapped all aero cars including the FORD TALLADAGA, MERCURY SPOILERII, Daytona and Superbird. These cars could run during 1971 but only with a weight handicap or a 305ci engine.

At the four-minute mark they say that NASCAR came down on them and put a restrictor plate on them. Well NASCAR made everyone run the plate, not just Dodge. The plate was designed by Nichles / Dodge who ran the Dodge Daytona. The holes were designed to for the Hemi power band, which really hurt the big breathing Boss 429.

thank you , nice to see a few folks are actually beginning to read the actual DATA on what happened during that time, and it was NOT good for the winged mopars. Even Buddy Bakers 200 MPH lap was a PR stunt by a Desperate racing organization that had spent MILLIONS of Chysler dollars and was still getting clobbered......Charlotte,1969 was the first real race for the Daytona and the Fords just spanked it........the next race was even worse at Rockingham where the closest Daytona was 20 laps down to the winning Ford......then, at Texas, Bobby Isaac got lucky as Donnie Allison was leading by 3/4 of a lap with just a few when he blew a tire.......then for 1970 at Riverside, again the Fords Dominated.....and the closest Daytona was 15 laps down........then at Daytona, complete disaster struck when the car you were not supposed to be able to spin out (according to the BS) spun and its driver, Talmadge Prince was killed......the only driver to lose his life during the aero wars.........so Dodge was desperate for some kind of positive pubicity.

In addition, in 1970 Bobby had 9 DNFs of which 6 were in the Daytona.

Cale Yarbrough ran 215mph on the Daytona straights during the qualifying race in 1970. This was published in Hot Rod magazine. I have a picture of it in my phone.

I saw Richard Brickhouse win the 1969 Talladega 500 in a purple and white 69 Daytona.

DT you are a hater or a jealous Ford guy or something but I see your negative comments on just about every MOPAR winged car video on RU-vid. . You heard what these guys all said.."the most aerodynamic cars to ever come out of Detroit"..."the greatest car ever"...and they were the experts not the TV announcers or some dumbass commenters on a public forum. AND they said that here in the 20-teens not 45 years ago even after experiencing modern race car technology. You just can't stand it knowing that some one other than Ford built fast cars capable of dominating a certain discipline of auto racing. Yeah everyone knows the winged cars were nothing on short tracks...they weren't built for short tracks!!! DUH!!! When you see a wing you think of high speed. Common sense. Lucky for Ford and GM all the races weren't on superpeedways back then. IDK what you problem is but here's a thought...you obviously don't like MOPAR or the winged cars so stay off the videos when you see them.
