South Florida had other plans for Syracuse in that game for sure, but you also can't forget the had two winning seasons where they were 10-2 winning the Birmingham bowl twice in those years when Willie Taggart was head coach too

He broke his hand one year he was potentially slated to start and Dwayne Haskins showed out another year when he had to step in for JT Barrett, so he won the job. There's a narrative that he wasn't good enough, but that's not true at all.
Not exactly an SU fan, but I definitely wanted to see them win it. I didn't think they'd get throttled by USF. SU will at least have Kyle McCord. I'm a Buckeye and hate to see him go. As a Bama fan... USF is 1 of those teams that comes ready to play every game... Eventho they're record doesn't reflect hard they play, they're a legit threat every game... Kinda like Ole Miss or UCF

In a perfect world Bama should have put a good whipping on them. One would also hope that even the second and third string QBs could lead the offense past an opponent and beat them by more than two possessions. Between the team struggling to find itself, poor O line play, poorer QB play, and heavy weather that’s not what happened. Of course NONE of that still explains how scoring 3 and losing by 2 possessions constitutes ALMOST winning.
They were done dirty for a while, but man why are they so much fun to watch when they're winning. I always feel like USF can play anybody tough if they could find the right coach to take the mantle
They got a turnover when it was 7-0, scored on the return, but return TD was wiped out by penalty and then a few players later the muffed snap turned into another USF TD.
I think teams aren’t into bowl games like they used to be, players sitting out or entering the portal. If you got a NFL future or don’t plan on being with your present team next year I can’t blame them
Alabama played its 2nd & 3rd string QBs against this team all game and was never in real danger of losing. They were missing 4 starters on defense too.
Who was the coach for Syracuse during the game? These transition periods are always difficult and chaotic. If Coach Babers was still in charge it wouldn’t have looked like this imho. I kinda feel sorry for the players stuck in the middle. Hopefully next season looks better for the Orange.
Did you see how babers ran the offense? Thats why he got fired he ran the ball after shraders injury and ran wildcat the whole time, the only passes attempt were screen passes, reflect on the georgia techs game.
because they went 6-6...They were playing with a TE at QB and an interim HC. Syracuse is no where near where they were towards the beginning of the season

Usf had one of the worst Defenses this season. If they have any sort of middle of the road defense, this team is good enough to be in NY6, or possibly even CFP contention in the expanded playoffs next year.

Why did Syracuse even accept this bowl game??-no coach, no QB… team in flux and a total no show. Just addicted to college football tv money like so many other schools.
