Let me tell you about M81. I have 39 hours of LRGB from Bortle 4. Tons of IFN. Between the galaxies, stars, and IFN, this was the most difficult dataset I've ever processed. Partly due to my lack of knowledge and partly due to the massive difference in data type throughout the image. I have learned a lot about data processing but this was for sure my greatest challenge. My setup is a Meade Quad 70mm, ASI2600MM and Chroma filters. Keep up the great work. Love your channel.

I was just about to image M81 for the first time tonight, what great timing for this video to come out!

It's a nice galaxy indeed. Unfortunately it never rises from my location. Great video.

This is a very nice format. Lots of information and just getting to see you both makes the hobby fun. -16 C tonight and L-eNhance imaging the Seagull. Thankfully the clouds have gone after a very long time. Clear, dark, and slightly warmer skies.

Thanks for this introducing video. I'm curious to see what I can get with my setup (dslr nikon d5600, star adventurer 2i, 900mm f/8 catadioptric lens).

Thanks you guys! So far I have just imaged Bodes and the Cigar with my smartphone and 5" Dob. Just got a Canon 1000D, cant wait to try it!

What a coincidence, I was literally capturing M81, M82 and surrounding IFN at the time this video was released haha

I have imaged M81 and M82 last year with a 180mm lens and a fixed tripod. Very small in the frame and very noisy, but I was still amazed to see the two little fuzzy balls in my screen after stacking roughly thousand frames and stretched. This year I got myself a 5 inch scope, really looking forward to seeing them through the eyepiece when spring comes!

i actually imaged the bode's galaxies and for some reason i thought that greenish blue of m81 wasnt what it supposed to look like so i overtinted it and ended up with magenta arms😂😂😂😂 but nevertheless i loved it, the m81 and m82 galaxies were the first galaxies i imaged after the andromeda triplet as i call it, m31, m32 and m110

Well thankyou for my new target. I'm gonna hit M81 on my next dark site trip. Witch should be in the next couple weeks. I'll share the images on your Facebook.

M81 one of my favourite objects; however, I’ve never seen it in person as it never rises above my northern horizon (I am in Australia). I never knew about the interstellar dust.

A small correction about what you said on 4:13, the IFN is intergalactic dust, not interstellar. Nice video as always! I’m currently shooting a widefield m81 + m82 + IFN 🙌🏼

Thank you for clarifying that!! I knew it didn't sound right, I should have double checked when I edited the video, thanks!

I capture this target for few days with LRGB, because I don't have any nebula after midnight to dawn in my area. my view was blocked in the back yard. but it's hard in bortle 6. do you think the LiPro will help?
