We visit Bodhicitta Dakini Monastery, nestled in the beautiful world heritage forest of the Western Tiers in Tasmania, and interview the Abbess, Venerable Ayya Yeshe.
The monastery aims to provide training, shelter, emotional and spiritual support to Western nuns, monks and the lay community based around the traditional model of the four-fold Sangha of nuns, monks, lay women, lay men (and non binary people) founded by the Buddha. It is one of the few monasteries in the Tibetan Tradition where non-Himalayan monastics can stay for free, but is also non-sectarian, fusing Tibetan, Theravada Thai Forest, and the Plum Village Thich Nhat Hanh traditions.
The monastery is also a socially engaged centre of contemplation, linked with Ayya Yeshe's charity work in India.
People are welcome to visit and apply for retreats - for more information you can check out their website bodhicitta-mon... and RU-vid channel / @bodhicittafoundation9473
