Quick note: I’m aware that Calum plays Adam, not Ben. I got my names mixed up and didn’t realize it till after I had filmed. That is completely my bad and I just wanted to make sure you all know that! Thanks y’all!! *locks phone; knows his laziness cost him this time. All he had to do was check the names. Or just refilm that part. So many things that could have prevented this. Instead, he continues to eat his spaghetti.

My only issue with the movie is a I wish there was some kind of resolution between Behn and Adam at the end. After the end battle Behn is just like "we're not friends. you're a dirtbag. I'm leaving to be with my family." and that's it. The whole time he was going in on that personal shit in the battle, I was hoping there would be some kind of plot twist, like Behn and Adam planned the whole thing or something like that. But no... turns out Adam is just a dick and backstabbed his friend. The end.

I could review this in one sentence: if you’re a cultural sensitive whimp that finds words offensive and might hurt your feelings, then you might as well just turn away and do something less sensitive as this movie is meant to be a joke but wrapped in thorns.

I think hardly anyone is talking about it is cause it's a RU-vid original, and so you either have to buy a subscription to RU-vid original (which is crap) or look online for a free copy. So that means that it was only advertised on RU-vid and only on 15 plus videos as well so that's a really small demographic in comparison to big block buster movies which are advertised everywhere. This unfortunately mean the movie probably won't make it's money back

Only people who actually watch battle rap are "checking" for this and maybe the stray eminem fans, film fans, etc etc but battle rap fans will most def be checking for it. Especially since it has cameos from actual battle rappers and league owners.

It played in select theaters for a few weeks I caught it in Jersey. I watched it again when it dropped on RU-vid and liked it even more. I’m a big battle rap fan and this movie makes a ton of references to real events that have happened in the cultures as well as includes many of the people from the scene in various scenes. Really dope movie I’m happy you liked it so much!

Right just watched the movie for the first time today as I just heard about it. I loved how they covered a variety of elements of battle rap from an event and even character perspective even if some of it was clearly over exaggerated but it was still very entertaining.

Surprised you didn’t touch on the various editing flaws. Some of the edits are jarring in their break of continuity. I agree with the forceful expositional dialogue. Also crowd reaction to basic bars kinda killed me, weird because it was written by a battle rapper.

As a follower of battle rap for the better part of a decade now I can say with confidence that the rapping is the movie is completely trash. The movie is more for the story line of the main character which is the typical (my peers don't understand me and I have daddy issues). I feel this movie is to warm up the public to how real battle rap actually gets. The sequel(if made) will most likely have harder bars closer to the real thing.

To me, the message was clear, that you absolutely can go too far with what you say. But the movie makes it clear that what that really means isn't playing off generic stereotypes for cheap laughs, it's getting too personal and talking about shit that stays between friends, or bringing someone's actual history into it.

The ending mess the whole movie up. That's not how things would go in a real life battle rap. Plenty of vids on RU-vid proving it. The guy who plays megaton(disaster) has literally done what his character did in the movie and it did not end well for both battlers.

I found it a pretty great movie. The only thing that bothers me is that everyone who isnt a battle rapper is super liberal/or takes random things - such as the 2 girls who were somehow insulted by Adam sleeping on the bench relating it to Communism, or how what looked like the entire school rioted at adam, like noone has heard race jokes before- to the extremely offensive side which is sorta too exaggerated. I know it was for comedic effect / relating it to Eminem's real life conflicts but sheesh it was kind of a reach for conflict or humor

So we're not gonna talk about the fact that the plot and characters are cheap? The characters learn NOTHING throught the movie, the dialogue is super clunky and cringe, some plot points just go nowhere. ALL the characters look like 80s flat generic representations of "young people". For people that actually LIKE battle rap, and are fans of the greats like Caustic, Rone, T, The Saurus etc, the bars and depiction of rap battling in this movie is absolute trash. This movie looks like it was written in 10 minutes by someone who never wrote a script before.

i don't think the characters learn nothing.Adam actually embraces that he's a shitty person just like ben said he was.he starts off all proper and ends up being just as slimy as the other battlers.Also it kinda makes a statement on white ppl owning up to their racism.it's more about PC culture than battle rap actually.it poses some good questions.
