this song is amazing. and the great Late Ruth Brown had an incredible voice. I appreciate her talent. The piano was fantastic. I could listen to this song all night and day. Oh My Goodness.
Talk about stage presence. No props, no background singers. She barely moved a muscle. The gown and a simple spot light and with that she nailed it. You cant help being drawn in. Its as if she's the only woman in the world telling her man how she feels. "I love you body and soul". WOW!!!!
If the singers, today, would just shut up and deliver a song like this they 'might' be masters of emotion like the great Ruth Brown just did. This was magnificent!!
Thank you so much for posting Miss Ruth Brown knocking it out of the park with Body & Soul. I was lucky to see Black & Blue three times, and meet Miss Brown a couple of times as well. What a giant in entertainment, what a talent, what a woman!

Black and Blue was never commercially released on DVD. Our tap group is hoping to borrow a home-taped VHS copy of the full 2-hour 1993 PBS Special to digitize for our personal use. If you have such a tape and are willing to lend it to us, please contact me at: thedrsjunk @T gmail D0T com
