Strange how people seem to LOSE THEIR MIND over the smallest inconveniences

My suspension of disbelief was actually staying pretty strong on the not having a roof thing, but completely broke at the concept that weathermen could actually accurately predict the weather on such a consistent level that people actually trusted their input.

Ngl if the rent was $100 or less id live in a place with no roof. Get a tarp and basically make one.

The real horror is this house without a roof. Who the hell would even rent a place like this? lmao

This reminds me of a horror story from my childhood: balloons came from the sky, and when they touch a person, their heads turns into balloons and float off their bodies, hunting their relatives in order to turn them into balloons.

so this is how those balloon heads came to be in that Junji Ito story.

_Linden tea apparently does not help big head syndrome_ At the end, I kept wondering about all the people living on the second, third, or fourth floors of the high rises and if their heads just burst through to the floors above. Very surreal as is the belief in weather forecasts being always correct. I enjoyed the game very much. Also, you almost never hear of anyone making linden tea.

The movie they are watching is called Brain Damage, it's a weird movie about a small monster that eats brains and has a host human that they inject a trippy drug into. While they are high, the monster uses them to get round and help him attack people so the monster can eat their victims brains! It has a weird ending that is a bit like this one from this game.

Think this one is about how building up anxiety makes one wish for even the worst but finite outcome as something cathartic.

This game is... shorter than I expected [I clicked on it without looking at the video length]. This feels more like an opening to a game than a fully fledged thing. I'd love to see the concept expanded some day, because its wonderful!

I love this game developer so much. The mate and the emergency broadcast screen referencing Cronica TV (argentine news channel) give it such a homey feeling

Clicked purely because of the title and thumbnail, will watch later. Because DAMN this is gonna be my childhood nightmares. I used to dream about "big head tag" where if you were "it", your head would blow up like a balloon until you tag someone else. It was terrifying. And it arised by me turning on big head mode in ratchet and clank 3. It was a recurring nightmare until I grew out of it

A fascinating game! The experience of something going horribly wrong and being unable to fix it, trying and trying to find something to do and make it better when nothing's fixing it, stress is just building and building. It has been a long time since I've seen a game harken back to The Buried in a non-literal way. This seems to be a metaphor for stress building, potentially from work or otherwise, before the rain comes, burying all underneath. Trying to understand the world and system and society, but its mass crushes you rather than allowing you a moment to try to understand the whole. This game reminds me of Junji Ito's S**cide Balloon story, which is a similar metaphor, this time for the Japanese societal work environment, overwhelming people with stress to the point that they unalive. As always, surreal games like this can be interpreted many ways. The apparent epidemic hints at The Corruption, of course, but the lack of disgust or bugs makes me question that. But I could be reading into this too much. Maybe this is just a very strange world, where the top floors of apartments don't have roofs and when it rains, people literally lose their minds. There's no way to deny the inherent absurdity of the concept presented, but I can say I absolutely love this game. The author definitely did a great job with it.

This is reminding me of a game you played on the channel years ago, calles something like "Don't Leave"(?). I'm remembering you were stuck in this dark room with a computer, and your sole social interaction was with a virtual entity who loved you, but you had to keep finding and paying "happy coins" for them to stick around. The only other light source in the room was a red neon sign that just said "DON'T LEAVE". Bighead's nighttime skyline reminded me of it.

The description makes me think of Theme Hospital. In that game there is a disease called Bloaty Head Syndrome, which is cured by having a doctor pop the head with a pin and then reinflate it to a normal size with a pump.

They missed an opportunity to have a massive brain in the sky, and your character looks up as a massive flash of light reveals it. Really play with people's fear of looking up at the sky....which I share that same fear lol

Maybe the reasons why they didn't have a roof was so those brains could float upwards after "spawning". Someone planned for it. :P
