It *is* the only time Anakin ever smiled after becoming Vader. Between the fact that every waking moment of his life as Vader he had to deal with unspeakable amounts of pain, both physical and psychologically, in addition to the fact that when he wasn't busy slaughtering entire civilizations, he was surrounded by bureaucratic imbeciles... yeah And last but not least, sleep deprivation, which Vader was known to suffer from because his suit made it nearly impossible to truly sleep... now let me tell you, as someone who suffers extensively from this problem, how badly being sleep deprived will fuck you in ways you cannot even begin to imagine. Out of all the shit Vader had to put up with, i would put sleep deprivation as probably the worst. You can numb physical pain with medicine, you can distract yourself from emotional pain by doing things you like (like choking incompetent morons), but there is *nothing* that can make a lack of sleep less shitty, because it torments you both physically and mentally at the same time. If you couldn't tell, i am feeling its effects right now, while writing this comment. It fucking sucks.

Vader probably didn't even want to sleep, because the rare times he did, he would always have nightmares.

@@Da1337Man Man, hope you get better, listen to some asmr and stuff like that, turn everything off, build your surrounding enviroment confortable and build your mental to things that calm you down, also see a doctor with remdy to help sleep, which one will be more effective

He was shocked that Anakin picked him up and quickly did a distancing move. He just didn't mean to distance himself away from himself, which is what he was doing when he blew up.

@@winterleia9027 I'm glad I DID keep my 2004 DVD release boxset for this reason. What's worse is it's very clear James Earl Jones was phoning it in, perhaps literally. At least the "NOOOOO!" from Revenge of the Sith was so over the top it was unintentionally hilarious. This "NOOO!" sounds like someone doing a really lazy impression of the Revenge of the Meme version.

@@BoyKagome Not only that, Yoda did warn Luke to not understimate the powers of Emperor or he will suffer the same fate like his father did.

I don't agree one bit - Anakin rose and broke free of slavery to the Emperor and saved his son, and was therefore redeemed. Palpatine surviving/reviving doesn't change that one bit.
