I as a man would be more in love with a skinny woman thats like this beautiful woman, and I would not be attracted to a fat woman. Its just the way it is. A skinny woman shows that they are more healthy and that's what men desire so that the children that comes from such relationship would also be healthy. Fat people would always end up with way to many health problems. Harvard study shows that every part of the fat body begins to break down and destroy itself little by little every year. Health care costs skyrocket every year. Not to mention that the death rate of fat people rise every year as well. Not to also mention the rate of diabetes. Did you know that women with a BMI of 35 that are fat are 93 times likely to contract diabetes compared to women to a woman with a BMI of 22? Also fat people have 31 to 81 percent chance to develop heart disease compared to skinny people. Fat people are 22 to 64 percent likely to die of a stroke. Fat people also die every year to cancer between 15 to 34 percent. And fat people are 55 percent likely to develop manic depression. Not to mention that fat women become immensely infertile the higher the weight. I could go on and on. This is not what men want for their children. Men want to have healthy children.

If body positivity was exclusive to plus sized women it would be called plus sized positivity . But it isn’t . Us on the other end of the spectrum get just as much shaming throughout life . In my opinion body positivity should stand for equality of all body type skinny,plus size or otherwise.

To anyone who says 'skinny shaming' isn't real: Then why, have people told me I'm as flat as a plank, all my life? Then why, do no jeans fit because they're made for people with wider hips? Then why, do I get comments that I should workout and gain booty and hips? Then why, do people think I have an eating disorder because I'm so skinny? Then why, do people call me ugly because I'm not 'thicc' enough? Then why, do people call me ugly because I'm not 'curvy' enough? Then why, am I being bullied for being so skinny and flat? If that is not body shaming, then what is it? Skinny shaming is real, and very much body shaming

When someone says that body positivity isn’t for skinny people it makes me wanna smack them because it literally contradicts the whole point of body positivity. 🙃 Body positivity is all about inclusivity and acceptance, so to say that someone isn’t allowed to be a part of the community based on how they look is just an ignorant statement.

I think some people are so jealous of skinny people, to the point they don't want them to be a part in the body positivity movement. It's ironic calling it "positivity" and then putting others down, saying that "skinny shaming" doesn't exist. As an underweight person with small curves and long slim body, i know how obsessed and hurt i was because of others bulling. I don't have to prove that i feel pain too as a skinny person

Don’t let these types of people get you down. Regardless of history or facts that people latch onto to bring you down, they are simply playing the victim and probably dealing with very personal insecurity issues. It has NOTHING to do with you and the light you are spreading in the world. I’m not personally thin, but I think everyone deserves to love the body they are in. We can have different challenges and struggles and still be on the same team and lift each other up. ❤️

insecurity and positivity dont come in a size, texture, colour or anything particular. telling someone that what they are insecure for isn't valid is mean. its not that they want to be insecure please be more respectful. Also, it hurts a skinny person as much as it hurts a plus-size person when commented about their weight. body positivity is for everyone and not just plus-size people.

Skinny shaming is REAL, especially in the black community. People act like being skinny is a crime. Then we can’t even get surgery to get bigger (or wider frame) I have my boobs done and have tried to even get more stuff done, but I don’t have enough fat to get a bigger thicker frame. Eating/working out doesn’t work. My body will probably never be thick even after having 3 kids and over eating on the daily. I’ve always been under weight and “unhealthy looking”. Some people are naturally skinny and can’t help it, just like bigger women. In my book, the bigger/thicker women get more love and affection from men. Most men nowadays say they like thick girls. Idk why people act like skinny shaming isn’t real. I’m so happy that you shine a light on this because skinny people struggle just as much

If it's you on the profile picture... girl you look so pretty, you are basically perfect! And if someone told you that skinny people look unhealthy, then remember how many fat people died because of overweight and other disies that comes with being fat. I am super skinny, underweight and I am healthy as a fish, my boyfriend was always fat, now he lost a lots of weight but is still a bit chubby and is always sick. When he got covid, I took care of him, kissed him every day and did not catch it. So being skinny is actually more healthy :D

You are not telling lies. I was a size 4 until I was 23 (starting gaining weight unexpectedly - come to find out I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism/Hashimoto's). I was told I was "too skinny", "so bony", "you gotta eat more" from family and peers like it was nothing. I would be rich how often I was told how skinny I was. My weight gain is somewhat unintentional, but now everyone singing my praises. It honestly still hurts. Like, was I ugly or something when I was a size 4? We definitely need to speak more on skinny shaming in the black community.

Funny how they choose to use "made fun and criticized" instead of saying BULLIED OR SHAMED for your body type. That's straight up downplaying skinny people suffering and struggle just because being skinny is more accepted. What they're forgetting is that there's an specific type of skinny that is accepted. Being overweight and being underweight (too skinny) are considered two extremes and that's exactly why it has to be put in the same level. What's normal and accepted is what's in the middle; which is the "stereotypes" of what someone should look and NOT EVERYONE FITS THAT STEREOTYPE. Skinny shaming causes a lot of insecurities and is harmful to people's mental health. Just the same as fat shaming. People need to stop making it a competition of who suffers more.
@linmonPIE
@linmonPIE 2 года назад
Exactly! I feel like sometimes bigger people lump all skinny people into being the exact same category when really there are differences. The “ideal” body type is the hourglass figure. If you have proportional boobs and butt and slimmer waist- no matter what size you are you’re probably fine. It’s those of us who fall outside that ideal who get flak for it and there’s plenty of room on either side of the scale.
@heyitsrosie
@heyitsrosie 2 года назад
@@linmonPIE Yes, thank you for wording it better than I did! I always say when someone's overweight they tell them to "stop eating" and that for skinny people who aren't curvy enough get the famous "eat a burger" or "do you even eat" or worse "do you have an eating disorder?". Those words are extremely hurtful and people don't realize it's just as bad. If Clara is hitting it big with her channel is because we have been silenced for a long time and she's someone who's voicing out what we go through.

I never had any insecurities about the shape of my body or my butt (in fact when I was younger I'd heard a slimmer or flatter bottom was the desired shape) until one of my "friends" who had a curvier body shape started pointing out how my butt was flat and joking about it. It especially didn't make sense to me because she would frequently tell me how rude it was for other people to make hurtful & ignorant comments about her body. I definitely agree with Clara when she talks about inclusivity in the body positivity movement. Body positivity is so much more than uplifting those with one particular body type. It should be inclusive of all people of all shapes and sizes who struggle with feeling confident and worthy of love in their physical form.

You are correct body positivity should include all bodies. Personally the comments sounded like they don't believe that other's have issues also and should be excluded. The hardest thing everyone for everyone to remember is True Beauty Only Comes From Within and it is not your outer appearance.

It sounds like people that are against "skinny" influencers being apart of the body positivity movement are still traumatized in some way of perhaps being compared to "skinny" people or comparing themselves. Like you said, there shouldn't be a comparison. You radiate so much inner confidence that you are amazing just as you are and shouldn't be compared to anyone else. I feel like every body positive influencer should have the same confidence in themselves and realize the impact that they're making on their platform IS enough, despite what other influences are doing.

The problem with those criticizing 'skinny' women in the body positive community is that they don't seem to grasp that being 'fat' is not the only thing to be insecure about. Just because they have different insecurities or don't relate doesn't diminish the fact that others have their own insecurities or struggles. It just irritates me that they are trying to place some form of hierarchy on whose insecurities are worst and are mad other people can also be insecure.

I've struggled for so long with being overweight. For years I've hated my body, tried so hard to lose weight, starved myself, and nothing works. I was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism, which is the reason I can't seem to lose weight. I stumbled across your channel by pure luck yesterday and have been watching all of your videos and they make me feel so much better. Even though you struggle with being small, and I struggle with being large, you've made me feel so much better about myself and made me love myself again. I am so grateful that you decided to create this channel and I just wanted to let you know I love you so much and you helped me so much this week, I love you, and thank you

All bodies need to be represented. I think for everyone it is so comforting to see someone who looks like them. I have a thin body with no curves and small boobs. The "perfect body" that is idealized today is flat stomach with big butt/boobs. We need all shapes and sizes in the body positivity movement.

Fat acceptance is for fat people. Body positivity is for things you can't control. It's unhealthy to be overweight or obese and the people that celebrate it are not ok mentally. Celebrating a state of ill health is pretty fucked up. But if you want to go ahead and do that in fat acceptance, the community meant for that. Body positivity is for UNCONTROLLABLE things for instance my nose bump, acne, eye bags and stretchmarks. Or people that have scars, missing limbs, burn victims, vitiligo. 99% of the time you can control your weight and it is not a good, happy or positive thing to be overweight. But fat people ended up high jacking the movement back in the 2010s. Body positivity is for uncontrollable things and loving yourself. Fat acceptance is for people that want to celebrate unhealthy ways of living. Idc if I get hate for this because regardless of anyone's feelings being overweight or obese never has been and never will be healthy or good.

Yes, when a naturally slender person becomes overweight, it could mean there are health concerns. I also just want to add that lots of people have naturally bigger body types. Some people hold onto weight more than others. Lots of bigger people are healthy. I’m afraid your tone could be born out of a fat shaming attitude we have as a society (I’m sometimes guilty of this, too) that we need to be more aware of. And we need to do better not to express disdain or disgust towards our larger peers.
@Shattered65
@Shattered65 2 года назад
You have no idea what you are talking about. You need to educate yourself on obesity and the body chemistry involved and genetic predisposition to weight gain. And the FACT that for most obese people the sheer act of weight loss actually causes their body to reset what it requires in fat storage to achieve a stable weight to an even heavier weight. You are a perfect example of the body shaming that the overweight have to deal with 24/7 not just occasionally like a skinny person! To be honest you are disgusting and your post should be deleted by Clara!

@@mariekitty if your bmi is anything outside of a healthy weight category you should strive to get it within that category. You can't be obese and healthy it's an oxymoron. It's ridiculous whenever someone starts making up the rules for how others are supposed to feel. The utter nerve. You make people happy even when you're miserable. I don't know why that's something people can turn into problem. You're CLEARLY physically different (not a bad thing), which is why you've taken a lot of abuse from the so-called "normal."

Hi Clara , I’m from Taiwan. I’ve been watching your videos since this year, and I definitely agree with what you said in this video.Also I’m just so happy that there are creators who are initiating about body positive with skinny people because I am also a slender person that you talked about .Every would say about like,”you just need to eat more .”or “your are so skinny .”these are all the words we were suffering through,so I totally understand your feelings,but you gave us your confidence which made me really appreciate.I think that “Body positive “is a word that everyone could define by themselves,and everyone has there insecurities not just for the people who have larger bodies.So I totally support your to remain the terminology of”body positive”.You’ve been doing the very right thing. I can understand that people with larger bodies won’t be confident to show their body like skinny people as more easy as well ,but they don’t need to compare the insecurities or problems between slender people and fatter people,we all have different problems and it’s not comparable. I agreed with you that everyone can create their platform for themselves and there’s no limit to restrict between the two body types of people. I love how you elaborate about how people are discussing about the topic ,you’re so rationaly and full of neutral and wise opinions,thank you for sharing this.(By the way I love your accent)😄

i love you so much clara. thank you for being here. you are literally who i go to when i need to feel positive about my body, to love my body. if that is not body positivity, then i don't know what is. skinny shaming is very real, up to this day i still have people who give me snide comments about my body. if it's not for you, i won't be able to stand up to those people. so please, never leave us. i don't want to pretend i know what it feels like being plus sized, but i know how it feels like to be belittled because of my size, in that case i will always always validate their struggles. i find it sad if SOME plus sized people can't do the same for us. i think love should be big enough to be shared with everyone. if we only love certain people or certain groups, what does that say about us ? anyway. i just want to emphasize again that your influence is real to me clara. the impact you bring is real and that's all that matters.

Some people are simply nasty. I was a skinny young man (6’2”, 135 lbs), and luckily after years of weightlifting I got up to 175 in high school. I still was bullied and made fun of. By the time I graduated from university I looked good (205 lbs), but it was still hard. Now I am fat (280 lbs), and it is FAR easier than being skinny. No one makes fun of me. No one tries to mess with me. Skinny shaming is real. Yes, some women and men are fine with skinny (I am), but there are also men who love large-breasted, curvy women (no clue if women like fat guys). Clara is right, as usual.

Your short about at times in history your body was "ideal" can be said about ANY body type regarding various points on history, so that's absolutely relatable even if someone has a different body type than yours.
