@@AliceintheRabbitHole I actually purchased the trendmood box with all the new bosia products so I’m really excited that I already have something to start with!! I have a question about a vitamin C serum that I don’t like using on my face. I watched your video about the color changes and such and I don’t know how old mine is but I got it in New beauty TestTube and it came a pretty dark yellow color so I stopped using it on my face after your video. My question is can I safely use it on my body or should I just throw it away?
Dark yellow isn't necessarily oxidized (orange/brassy tones suggest oxidation) whereas yellow can mean some L-AA has converted into a form that can actually convert back into L-AA. However, that's not a complete guarantee that it will still work to it's full effectiveness. How long have you had it?
I am loving the Boscia products. They make my skin smooth as silk. I use Saop and Glory Scrub of your life. Love it. I love the M.Greengrass dry oil spray. I enjoy so many lotions. My hubby can tell of I use the Boscia, always. He loves it. So do I. Have a great weekend. You look stunning ❌⭕
I got a mesh sieve to catch my exfoliants..and my glitter in the shower. You can find some at dollar stores! It also helps catch hair and lints..and pet hair lol! Great if you wash your pet in your shower!!! 100% recommend everyone get one!!! Also great for natural products as it reduces how much build up gets stuck in your pipes and top of the drain..I personally had a mold issue before I started using these!! Have I sold you yet :P ?
I’ve been using the REN AHA Body serum for the past couple of weeks. I have very dry skin with stubborn KP on arms and thighs. I have actually been surprised by how soft and smooth it makes my skin. The scent is lightly citrus, kind of nice for summer. I need to try that Boscia Enzyme cleanser NOW, though! Great topic!
I really want to try the glow recipe body cream. It looks and sounds delicious. I have wondered if I just poured my the ordinary glycolic into a basic body cream, if it would work the same. I live in NZ and it's a lot harder to find some of these products. The US seems to have such a huge selection of products to choose. I am jealous. 😫🌻
Tbh I wouldn't recommend it as the pH of AHA products does need to be low to get the full impact (most lotions are at a skin-similar pH of around 6-7). But if you've got a spray bottle, pour it into that - it's actually kind of fun to spray all over? Or I'm a small child at heart who feels like I'm spray painting myself ahaha 😆
@@AliceintheRabbitHole why did I not think of that! Great idea.! Yes I will put it in a spray bottle. I like sprays /mists as well. It's very spa like and just feels nice. 😆
@@AliceintheRabbitHole that's how I use mine from the ordinary for years now. I hate rubbing in body lotion so I figured it was a cheaper alternative to glycolic lotions that I might actually stick with using consistently lol
I have the Island of Orphaned and Abandon Lotions and Body Butters at my house too. So many of them were Ulta gifts with purchase, especially the Hempz. I am so glad you introduced me to The Butters. Wow, they are nice! The deal they had recently with the free shipping and the free full-sized gift was killer.
My favorite body lotion for hydration, texture and scent is the Hempz Koa & Almond, but only that scent. Love it so much, but will only buy on great sale + coupon at Utah. When I'm out of that, I like Gold Bond, either shea butter or radiance renewal.
I prefer body care products that contain active ingredients like urea, retinol, BHAs and AHAs. My favorites include: -Amlactin (lactic acid) -Cerave Psoriasis Body (salicylic acid). -Alpha Skincare Body Lotion (glycolic acid) -Eucerin urea-based body lotions. Many of their lotions contain urea, lactic acid, ceramides, and amino acids in one lotion. -Tretinoin. I mix tretinoin with a bland lotion. Note: I have a lot of excess tubes of Tretinoin. Most of the my body lotions also contain ceramides.
There are also retinol body lotions: Advanced clinicals retinol firming cream, Perricone MD Cold Plasma+ fragile skin, Paula's choice retinol skin smoothing body lotion, Replenix smoothing body lotion
My teenage son is suffering from bacne and he is so self conscious about it but also won't use things that would help, teenage boys are special like that, however he likes spray things so I think he might use that spray one...it's worth a try! I'm doing it, I'm ordering the Glow Recipe, I keep going back and forth but no more....hold on...there, done ordered. I'm excited! I always exfoliate and then use body wash, if I don't I just feel not as clean. My boyfriend still uses apricot scrub on his face, I started him on it 12 years ago when I didn't know any better and while I have evolved in my skin care he is happy with his scrub and it actually seems to work for him. Loved this video, I'm a body care junkie.
It's smart of Versed to have made the packaging gender neutral too, very wise as that's truly a product for everyone. Ah the Glow Recipe is so lovely, I think you'll love it! 😁
Hey what do you think of hyram’s new brand? Would love to see product reviews if you can get your hands on them and also your thoughts on possible greenwashing + the weird white saviorism thing he got goin on.
Whew let me tell you. Those thoughts are cooking up...in the slow cooker. Might come out juicy, but hopefully still tender? The products themselves look fine so, one can hope!
10:40 I will have to try this method, I thought of doing it before with a cotton pad all over my body and it seemed to be so much work, never thought of adding it to a spray bottle lol. thank you
Another amazingly informative video! I’ve been wanting to try the Glow Recipe lotion, but I’m petty about the packaging. I feel like there is no way I could get every last bit out of it and it’s so pricy!!! Now, I will love you forever if you riddle me this: WHAT is the SORCERY of the Moroccan Oil Night Body Serum?! It came in my Sephora birthday gift and I must admit NOTHING has ever given me such immediate softening results. It feels like putting Frizz Ease on your legs, but shortly after… I’m baby bottom soft. I’ve been wanting to buy a full size but it is always sold out. Apparently, I’m the last to discover the magic (typical 😏)!
Also, I mentioned I was getting a lip flip. It’s a mixed bag. Won’t be doing it again. It’s subtle and the upside is it got rid of my marionette lines. However it feels weird 9 days out; like it’s numbed from a procedure. I’ve also had trouble drinking from a can and have been lisping and spitting sometimes while talking. WTF. It has made my upper lip more downturned. Which at 54 I don’t want anything downturned. But like I said it’s subtle. I’m sure I’m noticing these things more than anyone else. In summary I think the best thing this would be good for is a gummy smile. Next time I have Botox I’ll do it to another area which needs more help:))
Ah thank you so much for the update! That's good to know, and does make sense. Not sure I would be able to handle numbness around my lips (am enough of a baby when I bite the inside of my mouth LOL 😂😆 - ughh I hate that sensation SO MUCH!!)
@@AliceintheRabbitHole you obviously don’t need anything. I guess none of us do really. But it’s hard to get older. I saw a video where you mentioned you were made fun of your thin upper lip. I was like ‘what?’ Never noticed it. ❤️ Thanks for the response:)
YESSS I was waiting for this. Body skincare is so underrated. Johnson's Baby Shampoo is my HG face cleanser and Neutrogena Hydroboost Overnight Body Cream is my HG face moisturizer. Transitioned to both during the pandemic and honestly never looking back.
It's currently underrated for sure. I do wonder what the future holds - wouldn't be surprised if it becomes as big as facial skincare (once people give it a try!!)
You're so right the body skin care in going to Blow Up. Toners serums and masks for the body I'm sure we will see. lot of brand try .. I'm so excited:)
Same! I saw Farmacy has a honeymoon glow specifically for the body - 12% AHA 😱 I can't wait until we start seeing similar products in the drugstore range LOL!
Ah, thanks for including a good range here. I love scents in hair and body products, but alas, I live with mast cell activation disorder and I'm very sick with it. It means I'm very limited to what I can use. But thankfully, there's loads more choice for my fragrance free needs these days. I love inkey list salicylic cleanser for my gritty back. And I didn't get on with an Olay face cream..perfect for my Dec/chest care :) I think I need that versed spray. Ooh. I wish they did mini trial sizes..
Same!! I noticed Versed is expanding their trial sizes (they just added a mini of dew point!), but I'd love to see a trial size for each product. It helps a lot with determining whether a product is right before committing to more!
Alice I love this approach, those kompari products look lush! In one of your previous videos you mentioned using pixi retinol tonic on body - I will definitely try that as I can’t fit in this product in my facecare and keep forgetting about it 😅 Following using face products on my body I’m going to use the kikomasamune (iHerb purchase) as a summer lotion: it’s such a light texture, perfect for our hot summers and a great value for money (10$ for 500ml)
Alice, have you tried the Korean brand SNP? They're sold at Ulta. They have a thick-ish peptide serum called Prep Peptaronic Serum that's 7.43oz for $12. They also have a thin-ish serum-like textured Prep Peptaronic Toner that's 10.82oz for $12. Based on the ingredients, not to mention the price, I think both are better than the Boscia body serum for body and face use. Caffeine is the only really beneficial ingredient both SNP products don't have that the Boscia serum does, but since I have a surplus of The Ordinary's Caffeine serum, I'm going to try to mix them to see how they work together. I think I also have an unopened bottle of Pacifica's caffeine & mushrooms serum that might work as well. 😂
😱😱 I haven't but holy mackerel, those price/size ratios are phenomenal!! Let me know if you do try those? I've got a surplus to finish off for now, but that could be a future purchase for sure. I love saving money LOL 😆
I use the Cerave Cream mixed with a drop of vitamin E oil right out of the shower (I want to try the Pyunkang Yul but I'm on a lotion/cream no buy until I use stuff up). I air dry while I do my face skin care so I don't worry about buffing it in and it is soaked in by the time I put clothes on. I use the Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion fragrance free on non damp skin. I get both the Cerave and Aveeno from Costco when they go on sale so they are quite affordable and they don't irritate my skin (although I can't put lotion on non damp skin after shaving or it stings) so win win. I use the Cerave Hydrating or Aveeno Restorative Skin Therapy cleanser as a body wash and use the Cerave SA cleanser about once every 2 weeks. I would like to do more especially for my KP but showering is uncomfortable and exhausting for me and I'm happy for doing as much as I do.
Late to view but perfect timing, I’m now disappointed in both body lotions I have left (one is the Bum Bum and yeah smells great but not doing the job) so I put in an order for a couple of Butters including that guava… how fun is this company! ♥️
Thanks for inspiring me to buy some body care. Think I never bother as my memories of body care is the old style lotions that take 3 hours to soak in and are sticky as hell 🤣. Also great idea on repurposing. I know what I can do with this Decleor cream that is left sitting there as the fragrance makes me sick ( and that's saying a lot as I don't mind fragrance usually!)
Awesome overview!!!🥰🥰🥰 I am definitely going to be using BBW products for a looooooonnnnngggg time to come, lol but it was fun to hear about some other options😊
Yessss helpful video as always. I keep intending to up my body skincare game. I'd love recommendations of places to get UPF clothing (and hats!) if you have any. Or if you just want to do a video on the subject that would be cool too. 😉💜🧛♀️
Ooh that would make for a good video! Mine are mostly Under Armour/North Face (I used to work at a Sports store...one of my many many jobs lol) and to their credit, while they are pricey, those pieces last forever. But I know Ara gets them on Amazon, so she might have great input for it!
I've tried a few different types of pacifica body sunscreens and unfortunately I hated all of them. I was so sad too because they had such cool scents for sunscreens unlike the typical, like blood orange etc.
Alice, have you tried the Sili Body Lotion from Drunk Elephant? It’s such a great body lotion. Fragrance free, absorbs quickly. My skin feels so smooth and soft after using. ♥️♥️
Yes! Been waiting for this ever since you shared the tip about using chemical exfoliants (right?) as deodorant bc it kills the odor causing bacteria and makes it less hospitable for them to set up shop. Recently saw a “body serum” and was curious but figured I’d keep using my extra face stuff on my body until I used it up. I think it’s been helping... can’t wait to see what U have to say!!!
Yep, it does! I almost included body deodorants in this video; maybe down the road. Yeah it's amazing what using even leftover facial care does for the body - my body skin is so much more even!
Great video! I want to try the kopari mask. Besides lotions and dry body oils. Using some of my face skincare I didn’t like on my body made see having a more advanced body skincare. I also like that it makes me take just a few minutes more of time for me. My nighttime skincare is the most relaxing part of my day.
Wow!! I would probably have a panic attack if I ever wore the Bum Bum cream! That’s an easy pass! Been using FaceTheory’s Glycomide Body Cream on the soles of my feet, but they still look pretty wrecked. Nothing I do seems to help, but better my feet than my face. Can’t wait for the declutter! ❤️
@@anonymous6594 I tried Tosowoong’s foot peel and nothing happened. Same with urea cream, kerasal and even prescription meds. Worse in the summer because I wear flip flops. But I appreciate the suggestions!
I don't mind the scent of the original bum bum cream, but I like picking my own perfume to wear. I did find it to be really moisturizing and I liked that. I know they have an unscented version now, but I heard it's not the same. The blue bum bum cream smells like rancid fake butter to me. I never buy body products but for some reason I decided to buy the Truly CBD jelly anti blemish body mask and it's ended up being a holy grail for my face blemishes. I had a real doozy of a cystic thing that had been around for a month and it got rid of that sucker in like two days. If I combine it with my peter thomas roth clearing gel it works literal miracles.
Yuuup that's why I still use CBD skincare to this day. There may not be a lot of research on it yet, but whew - works wonders for me. Especially against inflammation!
Alice! How much moisture does the bum bum cream provide? And does the kopari one really has the same scent? Or does it just smell like coconut? Which is your favorite!!
The Kopari is much more moisturizing, but the Bum Bum has a much stronger smell. It’s kind of like: Bum Bum is fragrance first, Kopari is moisture first! And the scent is in the same beachy/coconut family, but Bum Bum has …maybe a nuttiness to it? Pistachio, perhaps?
I bought the Peter Thomas Roth 3% glycolic cleanser to wash my face but found it to be too strong. I use it for my back and chest and love it. I went out and repurchased it! I also use the Donginbi red ginseng lotion for my after shower body lotion. I also use the Cerave SA lotion for my back.
This doesnt hav to do with the topic but i was wondering if u could do a video on best products to buy at ulta. Either a video for makeup and a video for skincare or both in one video. I feel like u wld b the best person to ask cuz i no u shop there alot. I want to get skincare from there to use up my points or gain some and sometimes i dont know what to get or what is good.
The ATO baby body wash/shampoo from Pyunkang Yul is a lovely gentle wash. Use it on my toddler’s hair and have had significantly fewer tangles and I use it on my body and my skin is happier
I really like the body wash and body lotion from athena club, also the body serum from nécessaire. They have some niacinamide, panthenol, vitamins and HA in them. The combo is so hydrating and smoothing. For extra glow on chest and anywhere else i put on some Nuxe huile progideuse dor. I use an exfoliating washcloth but I think Imma try some scrubs or using my beauty of joseon toner on spots that need some exfoliation
I loooove Nuxe, wish it was more accessible for me to purchase. I've been out for a while and I miss it! Ah the 3% toner? I think that will work nicely! 😃
Have I been doing this wrong? I was under the impression that oil goes last bc in a sense, it locks in the previous ingredients and makes an impervious layer to lock in hydration and other ingredients. The exception is if you’re using an oil based serum or an oil with actives. I know there’s no hard and fast rules, I’d just like to know why you do your routine with moisturizer last bc I trust you more than other beautytubers. Ive been working through a giant bottle of hyaluronic acid Essence- the hyaluron skin essence- and realized it’s prob been a year since I opened it. I put it in a spray bottle at your suggestion and have been using it on my body when I get out of the shower. Do u think it would be good for rough areas/dry skin on body? The neutrogena body oil makes a good makeup remover/1st cleanse.
Nope, not wrong! You can do whatever works best for you! The reason I listed them in this order is that the dry oils seem to be used a lot more often in body care, and as those tend to have low occlusivity (and body butters high occlusivity), the general advice would be dry oil then body butter. But take for example the Pyunkang Yul lighter lotion and the Flé Soléy oils - I'd absolutely switch that to lotion then oil. It's all relative, and ultimately all that matters is that the application method is giving you results ☺️
I really like the Necessaire serum feel/texture but I just can't at $45, I would love a cheaper alternative to that. The lotion for me is way too thick, I mix it w my body oil to apply it. Their exfoliator is fine and the cleanser is meh, I love a super foamy body wash and that isn't one. I talked myself into one of their holiday sets and I just don't think their products are worth the price. :( I think I may try the lighter PY moisturizer next, that one sounds very nice.
Thanks for the info on their other products! I do think I'll pass for the same reasons - their products are quite nice, but indeed pricey. Although mixing the lotion with oil sounds like a fantastic way for me to use this one up!
Oh after sculptra injection. I got bruises ..do you think arnica face lotions work ? Will it break me out I have combo skin I go in another week or so for next touch up
I love Arnica personally, but I'll mention that it does have an allergy potential (I think it cross-reacts with ragweed?) so at the very least, make sure to patch test!
I use the TO glycolic acid, and any of the rejected face washes I bought when I was young and dumb, on my body too. Works super well. I hate that my body has its own routine, face skincare already ate in my budget 😂
Right lol! I love/hate it. Love the results, no question about it. But when I'm tired and just want to go to bed, I hate that my brain is over here going, "hey hey its your back speaking, MOISTURIZE ME" 🤣😆
I'd say it depends on your own skin. Dr. Lancer recommends starting slowly (a few times a week) and working up to whatever level is most comfortable for you. And no, haven't heard that about loofahs - although I tend to not like putting anything into a "bad" vs "good" box. There may be people who have very sensitive skin and can't use them, for sure. But there are plenty more who use those, even daily!
@@AliceintheRabbitHole My friend duped the fragrance at her nail store I guess LOL so if you're interested blackbirddips.com/collections/blackbird-perfume/products/beach-bum-perfume /gag LOL she's really good at fragrance though so it's probably awesome.
