What you call nostalgia I call a song of my teenage years. This was the theme song to the movie "Less Than Zero" which is the scenes in the video. It's a story of addiction and it's a great movie starring Robert Downey Jr, who I think is a great actor. I always loved their energy and it was easy to dance to their music.
Song is a Cover of Simon and Garfunkel's song by the same name. Simon and Garfunkel came out with this song in the 60s. Their version is a bit slower not Rocky like this is. The movie that you see clips of is a film called "Less Than Zero" starring Robert Downey Jr, Andrew McCarthy and Jamie Gertz. It's from the late 80s I believe. It's one of my favorite Cautionary Tales addressing the access of drugs and money for some Beverly Hills High School student's showing us what happens to them after Graduation Day.
An amazing live band too; several big hits and 2 or 3 number 1s inc eternal flame and walk like an Egyptian, manic Monday - these were late 80s hits and they broke up in 1989 to reform in 2000 and still going now to this day.
Bangles rock!! Lots of good songs. They did a concert in front of a theater that I worked at. They were celebrating the grand opening of a toll road and the stage was on the road. Since there were no grandstands, people were piled up all along the edge of, and on the multilane road. A sea of people. We sold $25,000 worth of drinks and popcorn that day.
You crack me up - you're not really even listening to the music, all you're doing is commenting on how "old" or "nostalgic" or "retro" the music is. Good music has NO DATE.
It’s actually a Simon and Garfunkel cover but rocks! And yes The Bangles are an all girl rock band from the 80’s. It’s gonna be stuck in your head all day.
You pretty much got it right on. They formed in 1981 in LA. I'm not exactly sure where they're all from originally but I know Susanna Hoffs is from Long Island. They're all super fun to watch and very talented.
