My goal is to do 200kg even once :D I'm currently at 170kg@73kg bodyweight and trying to start over from not using straps and going forward again, then maybe throwing some straps again. Not using mixed grip because I dont want imbalances or the unneeded risk for bicep tear because I've torn my right bicep slightly trying to move a quad that was stuck once, who knows if I'd tear it worse doing mixed grip :)
Amazing how the 29 years old guy looks younger than the one 21... Never really liked this bodybuilder guy but after seeing his comeback after Romano defeat, massive respect & starting to like him now !
one of the better episodes... kinda miss the old ones where the competitor would make the other finish the final reps even after winning the battle themselves
Daniel is getting better and better! Ever though I did not like him at the beginning of his career in SW, now I really enjoy watching him battling it out! Nice job Daniel! Ewald also did great :D
This was a blood bath I love watching these strength battles. You guys motivate me to get in shape. Shit is like an natural high. All you guys are Warriors...
Ewald you don't have to hide with your performance, the fight is unfair cause of using steroids by Mr. Gildner, so its a crash for him to get almost beaten by a natural powerlifter like you. You fought great, respect!!!
Great battle! I knew Ewald would lose as soon as he said the high reps weren't normal for him. Specificity is crucial for winning something like this, and Daniel definitely has had experience with it! Ewald being lighter as well, he sure put up a great fight, but the cards were against him! Great job to both athletes! Awesome video.
Great Video and it just keeps getting better. Found the channel 3 hours ago and been watching every since! I would think as Strength Wars evolves, in order to have the continuous growth there has been, that different "tier" of weight groups should be appropriated. As does any sport, Boxing, Mixed (and non) Martial Arts, Body Building & even Power Lifting; they do these classifications due to the differences in their strengths and weaknesses among weight groups. By definition they are testing absolute strength of the individuals (grouping them in same weight testing), but there would be a greater reward (among people in general) in doing so in relative terms (to the participants weight class). Even tho the competitors are full aware of their challenger & challenges before they face them, changing someones strengths (appropriately to prepare them for competition) can take weeks in not months (even if just adding reps). Handicaps are eventually going to happen such as a Body Builder vs a Power Lifter when doing higher weights or reps (which can fall either way depending of which muscle types the challenges favors). Kudos to all the people involved in making this, participants, trainers & extras. I look forward to seeing implementations of different tiers of challengers in Strength Wars, including but not limited to, Speed/Agility, Endurance (Respiratory) & Power. And of course we need that really cool announcer. That guy is on some other Sugar Honey Ice Tea.
Wow, props to Ewald. One of the only real naturals in the history of strengthwars and he put up a good fight. For the future though, it should be natural vs natural, roids vs roids.
Hey Strength Wars, can we see more challenging lifts in the competitions such as snatches and cleans? Mainly to make fun of bodybuilders and powerbuilders attempting them lol. Please? Thank you in advance.
WDFDF World Powerlifting Champion my ass.. shows that IFP athletes are the only real deal.. if you have balls bring somebody like Brett Gibbs or Joe Candito into your competition.. dude can't even handle 140kgs squats and 200kgs deadlifts and is a powerlifter, pff..
I used to lift that much weight. Not for as many reps though. Hopefully I can get back to doing it again after I get a few things looked at by a doctor. In the meantime I'll keep watching these.
