According to the Tulsa Police Department, the young suspect admitted to the deadly stabbing after being taken into custody. The bodycam video depicts the middle school student being placed in handcuffs and put into the back of a police cruiser.

In the footage, the 12-year-old girl can be heard repeatedly apologizing and at times praying out loud, saying she wants forgiveness. She questions the arresting officer about whether the handcuffs are necessary, stating "I'm a good child." The girl proceeds to ask multiple times if she is going to jail before making the statement "my life is over." Due to the open investigation and the suspect being a minor, portions of the bodycam video have been redacted and blurred by authorities in compliance with department policies.
