It can be really terrifying being interrogated even being 100% innocent. Fingers were pointed at me in my boyfriends and his roommate homicide. It totally looked like i could have done it too. Luckily, a guy came forward and ratted out the actual killers. My life was almost ruined!

People need to understand their right to an attorney during questioning. Don’t sit their answering questions incriminating yourself and others.

I laughed the first time I was arrested. I punched a bully at recess. I'll never forget how the cops couldn't believe I laughing out loud while writing my statement. I was horrifically scared, but my body would show the opposite. The officer kept saying things like " You dumb little punk this is serious.". He was scaring my ass straight better than he knew lol.

I felt so bad for the first girl. She wasn’t there it’s not like she could know much and it’s probably traumatic to hear people close to you committing such a heinous crime. She just didn’t have the information the cops needed and was berated for it

The first question you should ask if you're ever interrogated is "Am I free to leave, or am I arrested/being detained?" If you can leave, leave at any point If you're detained, the next thing you should say is "I'm enacting my right to remain silent and refuse any further questioning, and I'm enacting my right to have an attorney present before and during any and all questioning." Shut up until you get an attorney. Always, always, always ask for an attorney, whether you're innocent or guilty.

That first girl interrogated is a key example of needing to lawyer up immediately.

The fact that an innocent man is dead, and they both are out on bail, is beyond belief. Both those girls took a life without batting an eye. Moments like these make me believe how incredibly broken our justice system can be.

When the narrator said “she showed detectives how she would have shot out of the vehicle.” She didn’t. A few minutes before the detective already told her that thats the way the shooter shot at the victim. She is just re-enacting what the detective told her happened. So its not actually her giving away what she did. She’s just going off what the detective already put out there.

It’s always sad they always say “why would I jeopardize everything I have” when they are in the hot seat. Maybe ask yourself that question before you pop off and do something stupid.

Recovering drug addict here…I don’t know why but I felt I had to say this, most my life I hated cops, due to the fact that everyday I was doing illegal activities…but the day I got clean was the day I realized…they are just trying to do a job, and MOST (not all) are doing it out of the idea that they want to do good and help people, I started to realize the only people who hate cops and think they all are horrible are the people doing bad shit, (unless of course you have a valid reason like being innocent and still being attacked or anything by an officer, or you have family that’s been victimized by corrupt officers) but other than that, if you’re doing bad shit you’re gonna hate the people doing goodwill for others and the law tbh

This is a great detective. She does not want this girl to be the shooter. But after going over the evidence that is gathered and the responses from the "witness" she knows the investigation needs to go in that direction. When she does, she figures it out soon enough. Calm, rational and effective while still believing in people and giving them every chance to convince her of their innocence if they are in fact innocent. Hats off to her.

Indeed the tattoo identity "if I shot this way" moment was damning. But I think what was also quite damning is once the investigator finally leveled the accusation, the response "do you have the gun?" is extremely damning. That is not a question that an innocent person would ask, that is a question a cornered guilty person would ask.

I watch a lot these interrogations... and people think the more they talk the smarter they sound. They almost always tell on themselves.

The cops had me in squad car with another witness to bring us to the precinct to look at mugshots, etc. A third "witness" was put in the back seat with us that I knew was one of the murderers - the other witness knew too, and he was sticking his fingers in her side to silently threaten as he she made him. I kept quiet until when we got to the precinct and told the dt right away - it was wild - a few weeks later, I was in a prelaw class and my professor recognized my voice from my witness interview-he was the homicide deputy chief...the guy - and his 4 accomplices - took a plea to avoid dp

Once they give you compliments just ask for a lawyer. But well done by these detectives. The rocking back and forth looked like a low grade panic attack, that was interesting to see an alleged murderer crumble like that.

She 100% tells on her self a couple of times, and then her body language screams guilty the way she’s rocking back and forth.

When you hear them say "It's cold in here", that means their nerves are getting to them. LOL
