They won't be because police love liars. They love it when people tell lies that give them an excuse to get involved. That way when they ACT on those lies by detaining, interrogating, searching, etc. qualified immunity protects them because they can claim that had "a credible report" or criminality, giving them RAS. They love the lies. Gives them an excuse to get all up in innocent people's business.
No one will boycott this restaurant. One of the best in Daytona. He didn't need to stand right where people are walking in and talk to them. He did this to draw attention but he's not helping the homeless by what he did. He's an idiot. Why not go and stand in front of the White House if he wants to truly draw attention to the plight of the homeless.
I've lived there, eaten there and I'm sure standing right by the walkway people use to walk inside is a bit extreme. I'd hate to be on vacation in Daytona and witness this when going out for dinner. It's like he was targeting Aunt Catfish because there's NOTHING else in that area.
@@debbietinsley1629 yes how dare someone I find less than have the gall to be in public near me!! Clutch my pearls! You people with your elite attitude are sickening EDIT: although thank you for giving out the name of this liars restaurant so we can make sure they know how we feel about his actions.
This SHOULD happen but doesn't....the KAREN subculture was created because of this very thing....Karens see something THEY don't like....they call 911 and embellish a story they KNOW will get a police response.....and when it turns out false? No consequences....so Rinse and Repeat.... Karens just play roulette hoping they'll get a cop who will just "do their bidding"...instead of that small percentage that follow the law.
@@ASolzhenitsynexactly! That's the party that's always flying the blue line flags at their white power rallies. Right next to the Confederate flags and swastikas
I think the "Filing a false report" law can be used by Jeff to sue someone, but cops generally don't use it unless someone causes alot of problems for the department.
Isn't it awesome how the cop always sides with the business saying "he told me he wasn't on the property...but he probably was".....oh, so Jeff is "probably" lying....but it doesn't even enter the cop's mind that the business lied about EVERYTHING....this is why when cops say "you're ok, unless we get more calls"....the AMOUNT of calls is IRRELEVANT....the ACCURACY of the fraudulent calls are what they should pay attention to.
Liars like this need to be called out. I despise people that feel the need to lie about others to get their way. I know I will NEVER be a patron of this establishment.
Personally, I refuse my patronage to any business that engages in immoral behavior...lying is immoral...especially when that lie is intended to intimidate someone or could result in someone being arrested. The manager recorded on this officer's body camera is a disgusting liar.
Exactly, and it IS a crime. Lying to police with the intent to violate someone's civil rights. Think about that concept. If he had said, "I saw him waving a gun and threatening people," HYO would have been arrested, pending investigation. People will say anything to get rid of someone they don't want around. That man needs to be charged at the very least with unsworn falsification...lying to police to have someone arrested.
Owner should fire manager not only for lying but for treating a vet so horribly. Here's a tip, bring a homeless vet a meal and thank them for their service & sacrifices. That type of reaction will attract you more customers. I would boycott that restaurant based on how they treated Jeff.
This cop knows there is nothing legally he can do but he agrees with the manger that is probably is asking for money but he did not see it, so cannot cite him for Panhandling.
Why are charges NOT being pressed against this manager? This is clearly FILING A FALSE POLICE REPORT. This manager guy is… How’d he say it??? HORRIBLE!!! He is a disgusting liar. Not to mention trying to weaponize the police for his benefit… SICKENING!!!
It's actually a crime. It comes under lying to police, and creating false reports, with the intent to violate someone's civil rights. He could be sued civilly. And should.
It's actually a crime. Filing a false report, and lying to police, with the intent to violate someone's civil rights, is illegal. He can be sued personally in civil court, and could be criminally charged.
that man admitted to calling 911 for a non emergency. that cop didn't blink an eye. should have informed him that calling 911 when there is no emergency is a crime and if he does it again he will be cited. and should explain that it effects response times and the availability of resources should there be an actual emergency
It would only be defamation if the police had acted on their lies in a way that harmed Jeff. Cop actually saved that business a bunch of legal trouble.
Oh please learn what defamation means... What are the monetary damages Jeff took due to the lies of the staff? Defamation doesn't mean "someone spread a known lie". Civil cases require damages, or they are not cases.
I think if they started to arrest and charge people for doing lies on the phones hopefully word would get around that you can't do that but the police let him do that because there is no they're breaking the law but they don't want to enforce it
@@scruggsbuster9458 I argued with police a few years ago because my neighbor kept calling 911 and lying to try and get me arrested. At the end I got so frustrated I put cameras up everywhere so when she called with her claims, I could disprove them. I argued so hard to get her arrested or cited, they wouldn't do anything. I proved she was lying to 911 and in the report, but they simply dropped the case.
Lying has become easy and acceptable in today's society. Say anything you want to get what you want. No one bats an eye. My parents are rolling in their grave.
Jeff should have counter-trespassed them from Jeff's properties!!! How funny would it be if the officer had to go back in and tell them all "you are not allowed to go on any property Jeff owns"?
Lying to a police officer is usually a misdemeanour however, if the false statement was made under oath, it can amount to perjury. But this cop did nothing to investigate beyond do you have that video, which the manager never had despite making the dumb attempt to show it. Don't know if that is an investigation or not.
@@Tracy-m3n The correct name is Aunt Catfish's. You can see it on the managers shirt while talking to the officer. Google maps can confirm the location by the description that Jeff describes in the start of the video.
I think that doctor deserves a shout-out! That was really awesome of her to interrupt the employee and show the restaurant one or two complaints about a non-crime, does NOT reflect the attitude of all the patrons.
Extremely classy lady - I was very impressed. She figured correctly what the staff member was going out to do and made her own voice heard. Very admirable.
And the police officer knew that the black guy was lying but did nothing about it because you have a right to lie according to the police the police officer would have to arrest him and then do a report and he doesn't want to have to do all that he doesn't want to enforce the law like lying to a police officer in his INVESTIGATION
Why? The cop was a total dirt bag lier too, he could have done something and charged the manager for lieing but chose to use " Officer discretion " not to!
@@Larryburnell Jeff doesn't do this to get people arrested. In fact, if the cop did arrest him , I would be willing to bet he wouldn't help to prosecute him. Btw, cops can't charge people with a crime that's for the DA.
It was just explained to this cop that panhandling is a charitable call for funds and constitutionally protected speech, didn't care and went back to discretion. The least he should have said is he'll check into it. Nothing better than a D grade, if you're feeling magnanimous.
The next audits should include signs that say, "the manager of this restaurant lied to police," and "Don't patronize businesses that lie to police." See how much impact that has.
@@tittyskillet3413 As I watch more and more of these videos, it has become clear that there is differential enforcement along with intentional threats of physical violence for non compliance. I've learned that, perhaps, we need sworn affidavits for trespass or calls for service. In this video, during a police investigation, the business manager lied to the officer. We have video proof from multiple cameras and HYO and JMA.
@@tittyskillet3413 Additional thing, and to be fair. I understand that a police officer, like any non attorney, would assume that an ordinance passed by a municipality, with a city attorney, would line up with the US Constitution. I get it. "Normies" would assume that it was vetted and in alignment. What have we learned? Not at all.
I've said it a thousand times, "...no person shall report to law enforcement any incident within its concern that they know did not occur..." I can almost guarantee its a misdemeanor in FLA. If you do it with the specific purpose of causing a public disturbance, it's a separate offense.
Yeah but the black guy he's not flexing his constitutional rights like the man holding the sign he should go to jail for lying to the police officer about the man and is constitutional rights freedom a lot of people don't like freedom
I saw a sign here in AZ about giving to charities, too. F that. If you research a lot of charities, so much money goes to their CEO, etc. not to people that need it. Even cities were given so much federal money, especially during the pandemic and have they used it for people? No. That guy talking to cops, I bet his parents, grandparents are so proud of him. Having to fight for civil rights for so long and then seeing him trying to violate someone else's just for being in public! 🙄🤬
Many cops are chomping at the bit awaiting the Triumphant return of their orange fascist leader Like all fascists, they believe that their current occupation as cops will translate into a higher position of authority in a new fascist regime.
7:10 that manager is dishonest. I hope the owner of that restaurant knows. If he’ll lie about this, what else is he lying to the restaurant owner about??🧐
Thank you, Ms Psychologist!! When I am in Port Orange, I will NEVER patronize Aunt Catfish's On The River! LIARS!!! Calling 911...lying...! If a different officer Jeff could have been put in jail.
The black guy should be charged for abuse of 911. Of course the cop won't cite these two over asking for money since they obviously have attorney money, those laws are for the poor only. The black guys Parents should be ashamed they didn't teach his kid about civil rights and Jim Crow laws.
So if we can trespass people for any reason even though they have never been on our property....What's to stop me from calling in and trespassing, *Every single city cop by name, from my property?*
Apparently the officials who manage Port Orange for the people believe they have the authority to tell citizens that they can't peacefully ask questions to other citizens in public. To say that is outrageous is an understatement.
Private Businesses have been weaponizing the police against the homeless for decades and the police are more than happy to be their attack dogs. I am doing what I can to expose this established practice of unconstitutional discrimination against a less fortunate minority who often lack the resources to fight against it themselves. If they put as much effort into alleviating homelessness and all the problems that accompanies it there would be no need for unconstitutional laws to combat it. We all need productive tax paying honest citizens and not down and outs who have been forgotten about or replaced by immigrants who may well do the jobs but still leave the homeless on the streets.
Growing up, every summer, I visited my grandparents in the trailer park 1/4 mile down the road. This video brings back great memories, row boating on the Halifax river and riding bikes on the beach.
That manager is lying out of his teeth!! Loved how the manage can't prove he was asking for money just lkke Jeff said he can legally ask if he wanted to. (Needs to challenge it at a seperate location) Still amazed that employee out right lied to the police!!
If this gentleman lies this much to a police officer what is he doing to the restaurant? Is he taking food taking money taking alcohol taking other people's tips?
Yeah he's going to call his black buddies from the hood and tell them they got a white guy standing on the sidewalk with a sign come and do something with him
So they can tell people to contribute to local charities, but people can’t give directly🤔ABSOLUTELY HILARIOUS to have her tell you that and then to be thanked like that💯😂The timing was perfect!
