Have watched video many times since posting..it was a amazing flight. I was the captain on it. FYI, we arrived 8 mins b4 Bern officially open while Bern ATC were giving us vectors to land 1 min past airport opening..we had a double FMC failure..thus that app was flown on standby instruments..Notam for the day shorten runway..belive me if I had to tell u what the runway looked like on approach..it was like a aircraft carrier landing. Landing was excuted precisely as the book, autobrake 3 selected as soon as we touched down max manual braking..by 500ft remains we were at taxi speed. This as well as doing the IGS into HK at the old airport was the 2 most satisfying approaches of my life. Still flying the BBJ however for another company..sadly this one was sold during covid. This was the first BBJ in the world with KA band internet.
Wow, Captain! Thank you so much for sharing your incredible experience and insights with us. It is always great to hear from a pilot. I was getting up early in the morning to catch this amazing BBJ. It's truly fascinating to hear about the challenges you faced during the landing at Bern and the precise execution despite the circumstances. Your professionalism and skill are truly commendable. Flying the BBJ must be an amazing experience, especially with the added feature of KA band internet. Thank you for your dedication to aviation, and wishing you safe and smooth flights in your current role. Best wishes to you and thank you so much for watching my video so many times! ✈️👨✈️🌟
@matthiashaenni hello Matt thank you for your lovely reply. I waited this long to write a comment as I see this video has been so popular. Re the interior, it was super special, a lot of thought and dedication went into it. As budgets go on interiors for this kinds of planes..one could get something quiet reasonable at 8 to 10M USD..this interior was above 40m. We had 7 extra fuel tanks in it giving us a range of 6000nm. Plse keep in touch with me, as on the odd occasion we pop into Basel for specialized work. And I am sure we cud organise u a seat when we do a pre dep check flight. All the best with your account you do excellent work, I really enjoy your videos and hv forwarded the one you shot of us to 100s of my friends and family. Chat soon
Hello! Thank you so much for your detailed and kind message. It's fascinating to learn more about the BBJ and it's extraordinary interior. The fact that it had 7 extra fuel tanks for a range of 6000nm is absolutely impressive - WOW!! Your offer for a pre-departure check flight is incredibly generous, and I would be honored to experience that firsthand. I'm glad to hear that you enjoy my videos, and I truly appreciate you sharing them with your friends and family. Looking forward to staying in touch and hopefully meeting up in Basel sometime. Safe travels and best wishes to you!🛩️🌟
Thank you Jesse! It was so impressive to see this BBJ arriving directly from China. I couldn't hardly sleep from excitement. I saw the BBJ take-off on Flightradar just before I went to bed ;)
A STANDING OVATION, Matt! All the Fireworks I need for these Holidays with those Lights and Flap Vortices effects! My first flight on a B737 NG was on a -700 (regular passenger model) like that back in 2006. The morning Scenery would inspire poets, painters and musicians alike. This is another Masterpiece video. Thanks a Lot! Cheers, Matt!
@Steve Logan Hello, Friend! Hope you had a Good Christmas. As I commented above, I flew one of those (passenger, first class) back in 2006, into and out of Houston IAH/KIAH, one of my Favourite Airports. I'll be hopefully turning 54 next year, and like you, I'm no fan of today's youth gadgetry and the facebook/twitter craze. As I said before, I'm more fond of timeless attributes and values like beauty, art, and friendship. And although I'm no pilot, I got a taste for plane spotting in the 70's. Talk to you later. Have a Magnificent New Year!
Toller Fang, sieht echt gut aus diese 737. Eindrücklich wie diese Airliner auf der kurzen Bahn vollen Schubumkehr reinhauen. Daumen hoch und guten Rutsch!
ABSOLUTELY stunning is your footage ... and always intensely touching for me, is the fact of touching down on foreign soil, after such a long flight! Thank you for the tingle in my sentiment!
@@matthiashaenni~ I can so well understand your excitement Matthias! Lucky for us, that you always find such amazing treasures to share with us. Thanks a million 🇨🇦♡🇨🇭
@@matthiashaenni your welcome Matt , video was top quality as usual, and i like the livery. I know you like a splash of color in your livery, and i usually do to, but this jet just has a quality livery with the striping in my opinion. Have a good day my friend, and a happy new year if i do not get to talk with you before then. God bless
Thanks! Flying 11 hours in a BBJ must be an overwhelming highlight. But being squeezed in a budget airline B737 is a nightmare. Every minute is like an hour.
