Wouldn't you dread the day when one of your passengers recognize you and says, loudly, "Hey! You're the pilot from RU-vid who keeps crashing in the flight sims!!!"
@@xXChoasLordXx no problem. Either mount rocket engines or tow it onto a barge. I'm sure they'll figure it out. The most important thing is that we get to see the video. :).
Turn on "developer mode" in the main menu. When you fly, in the top left screen you can enter "slew mode". Or press "y" to toggle in and out of "slew mode". Use the num pad to move and "F5-F8" to change altitude. Turn "crash mode" off. Use reverse thrust too. I love landing 747's on short runways.
I love how it'll let you bounce of a mountain, but clip your wing through a bit of bush or have it touch a fence while almost still and that's a complete crash
Happens a lot, when you plan you know you heading, speed and distance. So you follow the plan and you know you're at the correct location but might be slightly off sometimes. And then you just look down and it's directly below you
You can press “y” on the keyboard and that will put the sim into what’s called “slew mode”. You can then use the assigned keys (check the controls menu) to move the aircraft around without having to fly it. Hope that helps!
@@migga86 If I recall it correctly the main issues weren’t the unasked-for gardening job, but the excessive width of the plane and the failure to select the proper airfield for the plane size or informing the tower in time about the upcoming issues
I was wondering whymy toaster oven from China was late on delivery. Now I know. It's in the jungles of St. Barts. Next time I'm going to insist on Fed Ex.
You can disable the crashes by turning on dev mode, you can also get closer to the airport by using slew mode by pressing “y” on your keyboard or whatever u have binded and using num 8 or whatever u have binded to go foward
Kelsey! This was my video idea! You hit it out of the park man! Outstanding video and epic landing job. MSFS's terrain clipping was totally f'd. You nailed every one of those landings. Keep the blue side up friend, this is the way.
When he hit the mountain the plane was going 130 knots which is very slow for a 747 on approach , and after the plane hit the mountain it was going 111 knots so the plane stalled and crashed into the water.
If you want to do a highspeed climb in Germany you have to take off from the Autobahn, where speed is not regulated. Please remember not to overtake someone else on the right lane, because that's illegal in Germany. Overtaking is only allowed on the left side. Not only for road safety reasons, but also because it's an important political statement. We tend to impede everything on the right side. Better safe than sorry (again).
One way to get closer is you can increase the game speed by using "+" to make the game run x2 or x4 fast until you're closer and then slow it back to x1 using "-"
I love your videos, your clear passion on the subject of your expertise is wonderful, refreshing even. It warms my heart to see someone legitimate love what they do, gives me slight hope that I, too, will enjoy myself with my hobbies this much.
He could also edit the fuel load and weight, default is around half of max takeoff weight with 50% fuel load. Next time he should try it with a sport 747 with no payload and 25% fuel.
St. Maarten. You need to try St. Maarten! Especially a take-off! Thanks for all that you do! Flying supplies everywhere during this rough patch in all our lives! I too look forward to having a 'mask burning' party!
@@billyehh Yeah, I've seen it, sitting at the bar looking onto the beach thinking..."Those people are gonna get knocked across the water. Then someone's beach umbrella did get blown across the bay, and someone on a speed boat had to go retrieve it. Yeah, good times. HAHA!
Same!! I honestly never understood the fascination with "watching" someone play a game. I'd end up wanting to play but watching is as exciting as watching paint dry. Exception is Kelsey, his whiny reactions and facial expressions are the entertainment!!! 😂
@@cheena428 I have heard people say kids watching these videos are the same as our music was to our parents (I'm in my 40s). My kids and I listen to the same music (they like the old stuff and I can tolerate some of the new stuff) but we just don't understand the whole game watching thing like my parents didn't get our music.. It is true that I like Kelsie anyway so I watch most of his videos nad he is a real pilot. Maybe i would understand if my kids were watching a real soldier play Fortnite. 😂 I also love the new Flight Simulator. I suck at it but I it is a blast even if I crash half the time.
@@meandmyEV yeah, I guess that’s true. Each generation has its own thing. I enjoy music from the 1920’s to today. Grew up with lots of influence from older and younger generations. I’ve just never been a fan of watching someone play a game. I’d want to get in and do it myself. I enjoy Kelsey’s vids, started watching in 2020 for the informative part of aviation and then morphed to his entertaining facial expressions. I guess you gotta do what gets the most views and likes in this YT game. Still entertaining on a SUN morn.
Germany is very strict on noise levels. But back when I was in the Mil, we used to request high speed below 10 all the time. They’d usually let us without any static.
YOU HAVE INCREDIBLE CHARISMA ABOUT YOU. its fun listening to you. i never said that to anyone on u tube. even when you talk about boring stuff I'm still listening because of ur personality. good job. run for government!!!
Just spend my entire morning watching your vids - that is how pleasing they are. Great job, would be so thrilled to be your passenger one day (from a guy who dreamt of being a pilot but has bad eyes :( )
Now try Barra (EGPR). The runway is a beach. It’s incredibly beautiful. The only commercial airport with scheduled flights to use a beach. I flew in on a Twin Otter with Loganair and it was incredible.
In the old-school FS (RIP, Meigs field), I used to slew or land a plane on the deck of that carrier off the pacific shoreline of San Francisco, raise it to the appropriate height, and leave the game to resume for the next player. That got a lot of interesting comments...
Not sure if it's what you were eluding to, but FS2020 has a time acceleration function built in, can't remember where it is but it's definitely there, this allows you to complete long flights without the boring bit in the middle. I would definitely not recommend using this during take off and landing though :)
To get closer to the Airport: Press Y - than you can get high with F4, and the rest like Port it forwards is at the numpad of your keyboard. I think 8 is moving forwards
In x-plane 11, select your aircraft, then go to the location box and type in TFFJ, then return, then click customize in the upper right corner, then in the starts box to the left select "runway", then to the box directly to the right of that, click the down caret and select either a 3, or 10, nm approach. You will have little time to get configured, at most ~43 seconds @ 250 knots.
Hahaha you are cracking me up. I just realized that professional pilots get more aggravated at game glitches. Looks like your main gear touched that mountain. Anyway I enjoy your channel.
@@jeremyc311709 i mean i understand that when you payed a bunch of money for a then top-of-the line device you don't want to accept that its a oldtimer 10 years later but thats just how it is with technology. New things are always better and components get cheaper as development time passes by. I have quest 1 + quest 2 and i'm very grateful for it. Tried index + OG vive bbut don't plan on switching. However i know that i wouldnt even use my quest 1 unless i absolutely need to
I am laughing so hard, this is so funny - oh no, oh no were your last words before crashing into the sea - still laughing...Thank you Kelsey, always enjoying your videos :-)
I was thinking about getting MS Flight Sim for myself, because my guys never let me try their flight simulators. After watching your video, I remembered all I ever do is crash, anyway!
Hi there, I am an approach controller from Germany. High speed climb is absolutely now problem. Two things to say: Below FL100, speeds greater than 250 KIAS are allowed if 1.) inside airspace Charlie or 2.) the aircraft requires a higher speed for technical reasons or for the safe conduct of operations (high TOM...) You are the PIC. We always have a plan b. If you NEED high speed climb out, you will get it. No problem as long as you tell us. All major airports (Frankfurt, Munich, Berlin, Dusseldorf...) are protected by airspace Charlie from CTR up to FL660. But some are not. For example Leipzig. Lots of cargo heavies, but FL75 up to FL100 is airspace class Echo. Shared with unknown VFR traffic -> see and avoid. Thats why the book says 250kts has to be maintained on the climb out. Again, if you NEED high speed, you will get it. Your responsibility to avoid VFR traffic though. Also some SID‘s are speed restricted to limit certain turns in lateral dimensions to stay clear of arrival routes or neighboring ATC sectors. Rock n roll, funny video!
It's nice to see a pro flying a crap game-quality simulator program. You don't even have rudder pedals and yet you have such good control you can choose which corner of the runway to touch down on. You could have a good sideline as a test pilot for these simulator developers, showing them what is realistic and what is not, so they could tweak their programs.
In games there is a thing called a hit box when crossed it counts as a hit or a determinative. So your game has certain hit boxes that u crossed giving u the crash
Thanks for playing a role in helping to keep us safe in the early days of the pandemic. Unrelated, you’re throughly entertaining…even when I suspect you’re not trying to be. Lol.
I am private pilot and I fly the small aircrafts... so this is awesome to watch. Professional pilot trying to make the impossible possible Next time you should take Lukla Airport..that'll be fun
Slew mode to move yourself around (god mode) but the real answer is to use a custom starting location as departure. Hopefully it'll be at a sensible altitude; hopefully it lets you pick.
