Boeing 757 is a twin-engine, single-aisle airliner, developed in the early 1980's. Capable of accommodating up to 295 passengers, this aircraft is the largest in its class. It would be awesome, but the plane is no longer in production. From the company’s history, we already know, that Boeing finished it in 2004.

This is my absolute favorite airplane Boeing has made. It has such great lines and somebody had a great eye for designing such a beautiful aircraft. The best engine choice is definitely the Rolls Royce RB 211 engines! Too bad the 757 was discontinued! What a shame!

I know, it's a shame they couldn't have given it the Dreamliner style composite wings with new Engines, 787 Avionics and the sky interior. It'd be as good as any jet flying now then.

757 is a very special jet , I have flown it for the past 11 years and passengers love it. It is a very capable forward looking airliner when compared to the 737 which is just a 1950's design in the modern world.

@pilotxaq
@pilotxaq 5 лет назад
@Максим Артцвенко Actually, even though some of the avionics and interior have been improved, some of the systems remain the same. Same overhead toggle switches, lack of automatic power switching (which the 757 has), etc ... Many things remain the same to maintain "commonality" with the older types, so it's a new airplane keeping a lot of VERY old technology alive

757s can be re-engined easily without needing MCAS compared to 737s. 757s are already taller anyway.

The 757 was/is a perfect fit for the European charter market especially the longer routes from nothern to the eastern Mediterranean, the 737-800 really isn't up to the job, but the 757 could climb like a fighter even fully laden.

I flew the -200 for 3 years. What an incredibly nice airplane! The only real issue impacted following smaller aircraft. The geometry of the wing generated two large "rotors"(wingtip vorticies) and on calm days could settle near the runway which caused a few crashes of lighter aircraft behind it. It's one of the main reasons the admonishment "caution wake turbulence" (and a 2 min wait behind the -57 although not a "heavy" it is treated as such) is used. Although technically not "wake"...combined with the high thrust and often steep AoA out of smaller airports...you could really get bounced around especially on calm days where it wasn't pushed off of runway heading.
@reko3103
@reko3103 6 лет назад
Did adding winglets to the 757 reduce the wake turbulence?
@TakeDeadAim
@TakeDeadAim 6 лет назад
Adding winglets to any aircraft reduces the size and intensity of the vorticies. Also, the 757 wing is almost identical in build to the heavier 767...which is commonly thought to have led to the increased turbulence even though it's a lighter aircraft.

My special lady friend is a flight attendant, and she told me that she _loves_ working on the B757, because the restrooms are at the front and middle of the aircraft, but the galley is in the rear (and quite spacious), which means that the flight attendants can do their work prepping for the inflight services, without having to contend with the hassle of passengers getting in the way in order to use the bathroom. She said that it’s a very smooth and comfortable airliner to work on as a flight attendant, definitely one of her favorites.

Back in the mid-1980s, I was flying from Boston to Miami on Eastern. The captain came on and proudly called attention to their new (three week old) 757. He essentially said “watch this!“. They proceeded to do a maximum performance takeoff, and as I recall we were at something like 5000 feet by the time we got to the end of the runway. Still my favorite Boeing!

Benny Löfgren it's pretty fucked up that people think that way, it's not like he's hitler. I think America needs to chance and he can do that because think that if America elected Bernie Sanders or Hillary Clinton America would go down the wrong path. That's not an ignorant opinion, it's not racist, it's not homophobic and not ignorant. Please think before you say something cuz the way we are gonna improve the world is not by censoring each other, not by calling people ignorant but by talk with both sides in a calm and rational matter.

Black Burn No, he is way worse than Hitler. Adolf and his cohorts never had access to nuclear weapons, for example... And yes, your opinion is not only ignorant and willfully so, it is unbelievably inhumane, lacking of empathy, homophobic and racist. Just to start off lightly. If you support Trump you support the worst in humanity, and you are obviously oblivious to the dangers you and people like you have put the world in. One of these days you might realize what a horrible mistake you have made and what a fool you have been. But most likely you will never allow yourself to come back up to reality with that thought, because you won't be able to admit to yourself what a horrible human being you are. Grow up, get real, grow a pair and start thinking and maybe there might be hope for you yet. Until then, fuck off.

For whatever reason the 757 is overpowered, it can exceed a 30 degree pitch up nose attitude on take off when loaded prompting airlines guidance not to do this as it scares the passengers. Pilots love flying this plane, it's the sports car of the airliner fleet.

8:06 that engine is from the b767. I had no idea a 757 can carry a b767 engine.

I would press it into service depending on availability to replace the Boeing 737 MAX until something newer and better can come along! That’s what I would do! Are there any in Mojave or Victorville Elsewhere with some usable life still in them?

Very interesting details were given. I wonder if Boeing, in retrospect ever thought of the terrible mistake they made of stopping the Boeing 757 production? That to me is an eternal mistake that will haunt Boeing in other lifetimes to come.

The “most pompous aircraft for the most pompous man” line made me spit my water out laughing. It’s funny Bc it’s true.

Beautiful plane. Just had a slightly different look than most wide bodies. Sleek.
