@@DG-nk7joLast time I checked, putting profits before safety led to the Challenger explosion. The engineers knew and warned about the O-rings yet management decided to go with the launch anyway because they were already delayed. And last time I checked, putting profits before safety ended up jeopardizing the Columbia crew, which disintegrated upon atmospheric re-entry. NASA was fully aware of the foam problem well before this incident, yet organizational practices and culture allowed this to continue. In orbit, several people within NASA wanted to get pictures of the breached wing, and even the DoD was prepared to help if necessary. The result? Higher-ups refused their offers and requests. Completely ignoring all warning signs, NASA allowed the landing to proceed without further inspection. And thus, she disintegrated during re-entry. This was the accident that ultimately ended the space shuttle program. The Columbia Accident Investigation Board (CAIB), led by a former commander-in-chief of the U.S. Joint Forces Command, released a multi-volume report that criticized the organizational culture at NASA. “Cultural traits and organizational practices detrimental to safety were allowed to develop[…] reliance on past success as a substitute for sound engineering practices [and] organizational barriers that prevented effective communication of critical safety information”. The fact that people have to die before calling it a disaster already says enough about you and everyone else whose failures contributed to the deaths of the crews onboard Challenger and Columbia. What’s happening here is already a warning sign that demands a critical inspection of ALL the problems, including POTENTIAL problems. Your ignorance and disregard for the safety and well-being of astronauts is appalling.

Something in this story doesn't add up. Are they concerned Starliner is going to burn up on re-entry or something?
@jupiter3067
@jupiter3067 3 месяца назад
They said they must analyse the service module data, to understand the thrusters fails while the Starliner approached the ISS. This service module will detach from the reentry capsule and will burn, so all these data will be lost if they don't analyse them NOW. But between you and me, who will believe that it takes so much time to download let say a Teraoctet of data from ISS to Earth in 2024 ? The fact is probably they are not sure if those thrusters will ignite adequatly to put the capsule on a nominal reentry trajectory, a nominal angle of reentry. If those thrusters fail, then the capsule can rebound on the Earth atmosphere and "fly" indefinetly in space or it can enter in Earth's atmosphere and burn ! In those 2 cases, the 2 astronauts will die !

NASA awarded $50 Billion in grants to Boeing last week to research and develop a crew capsule that can safely return stranded crew members from the International Space Station. Boeing will Research and Develop all aspects including in-house safety employees who will represent NASA for safety certification, but will be compensated by Boeing as not to burden the American taxpayer. This is also to ensure that the integrity of the project is not compromised and allows Boeing to oversee that cost are kept to a minimum, so Boeing stock prices aren't affected. Boeing and NASA thank the American people for their complete understanding of the metrics used to ensure that maximum value is attained through efficiency. The project delivery date is expected around the year 2055. Boeing and NASA would like to quash rumours about pre-existing capsules readily available that can achieve launch, delivery and safe return of astronauts. The said "capsules" are rumoured to be orchestrated and manufactured by a foreign person under the banner of SpaceX, this unknown entity to the American Intelligence and National Security agencies, NASA and Boeing. The value of X being unknown is part of a complex algebraic equation, X = Boeing sleeping with NASA, what is the determination factor of X. More to come...
