The BOEL iTap bottle filler is a unique design that actually holds the bottle in place as you fill. It features a CO2 purge button and drain with valve to reduce oxidation while bottling. Easy to install, easy to use, and very quick to fill bottles. In this video we do a quick install and review of how to use the filler.

I have not mounted mine despite having it for several month because I dreaded adding three holes to the collar so I am loving the way you mounted it in the second example. That's my new plan! Thank you.

i've been filling bottles with carbonation caps from kegland. have you guys tried that? you can purge the bottle and fill from the bottom up with a short section of tube. works well enough and less than a tenner!

Could've put the hoses on prior to mounting.. :) I really like the tap cooler super simple. do they have a tower mount for that system?
@MoskiHomebrew
@MoskiHomebrew 4 года назад
Yea, we make note of that while mounting... As far as the tower goes I'm not aware of one, but if you have Intertap faucets you can put a ball lock post on any faucet and mount it off to the side like we had at the end of the video. Not ideal but could be done! 🍻

It is a bit strange looking. So far it's made bottling beer berry easy for us compared to beer gun and other counter pressure fillers. 🍻
@filipegomespena
@filipegomespena 3 года назад
@@MoskiHomebrew So do you prefer this system comparing to beer gun? Because I was looking to buy a beer guy but now, not sure...
@MoskiHomebrew
@MoskiHomebrew 3 года назад
Yes we prefer this to the beer gun for a few reasons but number 1 being, we can leave it hooked up without having to clean the long lines a beer gun requires. With the G connector you can even use it as an extra beer faucet. Beer guns are not counter pressure witch requires you to use long lines otherwise the beer will foam pretty badly. This system you can control it a bit better by pressurizing the bottle and purging with co2.

Not sure I'd spend $145 on this enough to use it along with the kegs as I crisper and howler fill when needed. If it capped them for you that would make it worth it.

What is the carbonation level after you open what you bottled?
@MoskiHomebrew
@MoskiHomebrew 3 года назад
No different from a typical counter pressure filler. I would say the carb level difference is very minimal if the bottles are filled appropriately. Hard to tell the difference between it and the tap.

You mentioned the beer gun and counter pressure filler but failed to compare. Also the part where it all goes through active beer lines finds no mention. Will you use this going forward or go back to the tested tools? Thx for sharing
@MoskiHomebrew
@MoskiHomebrew 3 года назад
Beer gun is not counter pressure and requires a long beer line to work well without foaming everywhere. Just makes it a pain to use. The other counter pressure filler worked okay, but it didn't clamp onto the bottle like this does. We still use this to this day as our best means of filling bottles. If anything it's pure convenience just always having it ready to fill.

Depends on your budget, if this is all you can afford its a good option thats easy to use. I have a Kolsch that I bottled a month or more ago and still tastes great from the bottle with no oxidation issues.

Hi guys- I’ve just received my I-Tap - your video is very helpful- please can I ask- do you perform a normal high pressure carbonation in the keg for a couple of days and then drop down to 12 psi or lower for bottling please? I use a MiniBrew set up. Cheers

Set it and forget it method works best. Usually leave it at 14psi or so to carb then drop it to 10-12 for dispensing.

Doesn't the beer oxidize quicly because of Headspace oxygen?
@MoskiHomebrew
@MoskiHomebrew 2 года назад
It's purged nearly completely with co2 prior to the beer hitting the bottle and before the cap goes on.
@rtikke133
@rtikke133 2 года назад
@@MoskiHomebrew In a professional brewery, they let beer overfoam before cap goes on to the bottle to purge headspace oxygen out. oxygen will get into headspace even if bottle got purged with co2. Do you have materials to prevent headspace oxygen?

Per their website it states " ATTENTION: G-connector attaches only to a clamp-lock for PET bottles." This makes me think it only works with the plastic bottle version of the filler, but it looks like his worked fine with the glass bottle version. Not understanding why they would have that warning if you can use the thicker stopper and flit the tabs like in the video. 🤷 I am looking for clarification from iTap.

For cleaning we just use keg line cleaner and flush everything out along with a spray bottle to get the part where the bottle sits. As far as the o rings we haven't needed replacements yet.

@@MoskiHomebrew Cool.. thanks for replying.. What temp is your keg, and Co2 PSI pressure when bottling? One more thing, when not in use, how do you clean the "overflow" line? Just ordered mine. :) Cant wait to get it going.
@MoskiHomebrew
@MoskiHomebrew 4 года назад
Temp is around 40* I believe, pressure will be different depending on the carbonation level of the beer. For bottling though we turn it down quite a bit. Sometimes 2-5 psi. To clean the over flow we hook up a keg filled with cleaner and an empty bottle to the filler. Allow the cleaner to run through and go through the overflow to clean it too. 👍

what psi on the gas bottle and what psi in the kegs please ?
@MoskiHomebrew
@MoskiHomebrew 3 года назад
It can depend on the carbonation of the beer but generally, Drop the keg pressure to a little below serving pressure, and I like to keep the co2 going to the bottle a few psi lower. This allows the pressure in the bottle to reduce the amount of foam and actually stop filling the bottle. Once it stops we slowly open the exhaust so the beer pushes through and has some resistance.
