This was very informative. I plan to get either a Boerboel or an Alabai from you one day. I prefer to get a female as I'd prefer a more bonded dog to me and my family and less risk of maybe unnecessary aggression on walks etc. Would you be able to say the same things about an Alabai female as you did here? I am a little concerned that the Alabai in general will be harder to take to the vet, have a stranger or at least someone she doesn't see every day come to feed her etc. If I go on vacation I would like to have my friend be able to come feed my dog or if I was to die I want to be sure that the dog will be ok being removed from my home by a possible stranger. Most likely my kids can take the dog but want to be prepared.
I have a 3yr old Alabai 33' 183lbs. He is more is Very good in these situations. He was overly socialized : 3 times a day different stimuli situations for the first almost 2yrs. He IS Stubborn. Smart can watch and learn and do things other Dogs take a while to grasp But simply refuses to be consistent.. [ he is actually better off leash, this breed is not a leash dog at all...comfortable watching a 5- 10 acre property is more their style. RUI really knows the breeds and I plan on getting one of his in the near future. *That is also huge with these dogs. The breeder!!! and I can't emphasize that enough. My Alabai is an exception in that he is not a Alpha type though he is entact . I believe is temperament is do the the mass socialization . My opinion.
With the turkish breeds from my experience both will bond to you strong...but the females are Fiesty. And apparently the female kangals are better killers more quick about it. Female alabai I know is too old to be guardian like anymore. But the male is intense but amazing, alot different then a boerboel though. Think a boerboel is probably the much easier breed to own.
Currently i have a male and a female BB, but the female is bigger than the male. I live in the Netherlands and the male is from a South African bloodline, more real working dogs, and the female from a American bloodline, and in America everything is bigger 😄 My favorite [after owning two couples of Cane Corso] is always the males, and that is because they are more independent and i just love that, the females are kinda sticky and more insecure, sometimes thats anoying to me. The males in my experience are always the better guarddogs to, more alert to danger, and always ready to react, so my experience is a little bit different.
Are males very dominant towards owners? Did you have any food aggression problems ? I know all about roules from the puppy age but even after training your dog do they challange you time to time? Im asking because I was planning to buy caucassian sheperd male but with kids Im a bit affraid with his difficult character - bb as a mastiff type I think should be more easy to control - what you think please?
Hi! Depend on the owner if you set yourself as the undisputed pack leader from early age you won’t have issues , a Caucasian it’s harder for kids then a boerboel a boerboel it’s very good with kids

A male Boerboel takes charge of his surrounding faster than a female , the male is also less vocal and as you said far more ready to engage , a Boerboel male will check a visitor , in your presence , not attacking until it is given the ok , a female will show more aggresion . When a Boerboel goes into attack mode , you hear nothing , not even them running , then they hit their prey , which is why in South African criminal circles it is known as the silent assasin . Males may also appear more stubborn as they asses the situation differently to a female . Do not piss off a female Boerboel , you will instantly regret it , dont hurt a Borboel either , they will remember that . I have a 100kg 'classic' Boerboel male , he is great and as you said , he is a real protector . He is 3 years old already .
As a first time owenver of a boerboel, which one would be better for me and my wife and 13 year old daughter? We will be out of the house for some time during the day due to work. But it will have the roam of the garden and a nice kennel. I was thinking of getting a doberman but they do not do well on their own for 8 hours a day.
I have had 3 Rottweilers thinking about getting a Boerboel my concerns is size and trainability my biggest Rott was 115 pounds really want a female dog that will not go over 120 pounds is that possible with theBoerboel.

I have a lot of years of experience with red nose pitbulls and last 10 years with American Akita but never had a couple, so need to know if the dogs and my family could benefit more with a couple or just the male.

Females make better, "sentry" dogs. Male makes a better, "guard" dog. If you want a dog to bark a person away. Female is great. If you want want true man stopping power and guard dog. Go with a male. I have corsos and I've noticed the same thing.

Yes but … is it really necessary to do that ? I don’t think that’s a proper solution better go to a trainer and solve issues you have with the dog but avoid doing that he will not be the same dog
Females once they get real angry though in protection work tend to turn brutal much much more then males i find. The level 4 dobie that lives at the property my wolfdog is currently at is a female, i think id rather get it from my wolfdog even though hes literally almost twice he size a decent bit bigger weight wise taller, with a more massive head and much much stronger jaw. Ive seen her doing some training work, shes super intelligent and really good at forcing the target to the ground in various ways and then just the latch and shake routine. At least my boy if he decides to pin you he usually doesnt even need to actually bite unless you push him. Although attempting to pull a firearm out....joda will go instantly lethal where as roxxie the dobie doesnt seem to be as aware of weapon types. We believe its his combo of hunting and protection training. He seen guns kill things.
Maybe the problem it’s your Wallet not the dogs , I sold more then 300 pups at this price to more then 30 different countries so I’m pretty sure the problem it’s your wallet not the dogs , also not sure where you buy your dogs from ptobably are left overs because all my dogs were imported ( more then 30 ) and none cost me less then 5k ( with shipping ) so I assume you got some left overs not top quality you don’t know for sure what’s top quality .
In South Africa, the prices are much much lower than overseas. Remeber that they have more expenses as things tend to be more pricy than we have it. I checked online for European and American prices, his prices are close. $4000 is right otherwise you could have a pavement special on your hands. Klien Sandfontein boerboels sell puppies for R10000 each as well. They have impressive pedigree and training. They also sell adults amd youngsters. But there are places where you can get one for as little as R4000, I would be skeptical of that though.
@@EliteBoerboels the exchange rate for the SA rand is super expensive and we don't pay that price here. But I do see your point. You could have replied with more tact. When I saw your prices, I understood why. Your prices are correct for the market you are dealing with as well as shipping etc. This is not a cheap business for you. I can see the amazing quality of your dogs. That doesn't give you the right to be rude as here in Africa things are different.

I’m replying to someone that say and I quote my prices are absurd , that’s being rude :) in Africa everything is cheaper for locals it’s the global enconomy working it’s normal , but to sell overseas the price I do actually are cheaper comparing to other breeders with suppose same quality , and I say suppose because I don’t know anyone in the world that do the work I do with boerboels that include SA , I work with my dogs , my dogs are trained , Bred and prepared to be real dogs , I have several employees this is a real business not a backyard side hustle :) and I actually increasing my prices and plan to increase even more , quality and my work is not cheap , people want to buy cheap dogs not a problem , simply my kennel is nor for that type of client .
Honestly I don’t think so , so you guys breed fit dogs ? Do you guys breed focus on temperament? Do you guys work with boerboels ? Actually test dogs ? Actually train dogs? 90% don’t even do dysplasia tests on your dogs , most are amateur breeders , I bought dozens of boerboels from SA most of them came here with tail between their legs, fats, some with health issues that I don’t even bred , in SA most of you just go to beauty shows with your fat dogs , most don’t know nothing about dogs just live your life by the rules of a association don’t actually think on your own .. so long story short , no , people should listen to people that actually breed healthy dogs , that actually care about the future of the breed, that care about having the right temperament of the breed , so if you want fat scared dogs you can listen to other channels , in here people actually think on their own and as you can see thousands and thousands ( actually we have more then a million views ) listen to actual good and relevant information.
We can chop it up via email or any other forum and i will show you the dogs we have or facetime not all breeders do all that but using the vast bloodlines we have amongst us farmers in this country we have very exceptional dogs .. by the way all the dogs you use the bloodlines are from south Africa like it or not .not saying your dogs aren't beautiful
@@chuckstrangersmkhize5736 yes but the best ones were bred here by selecting the right type , from SA only came 2 dogs with the correct temperament ( maybe 3 still to be tested ) while in my kennel I have more then 10 dogs that work that born here and lot more in clients hands all over the world so … yes if people want to learn to do things right this is the right place , we have proven working boerboels no one needs to go to SA to learn nothing nowadays don’t get stuck in the past ;)
Yes , and everyone should had , when people start worrying about color dramas and focus on healthy , functional and real temperament dogs they can end up like this with real dogs , I don’t fall for that fundamentalist trap of colors ;) I hsbe and will always have black , brown , red , etc all colors as I genuinely don’t give a s€&&t about colors , actually my best working boerboel is black
