I have a Boerboel/Corso mix puppy. He's a sweetheart and I love that when I'm entering my building, he sits behind me, watching my back and he does this without instruction. 5 months old and about 55 pounds....
Whoever reads this, please 🙏🏽 listen. I've owned both breeds. My South Africa Boerbole was shipped from one of the top breeders in South Africa. How did I do that? My parents own land and property their. My Cane Corso's, which I still have, came from a breeder in Virginia. Hands down, no joke and no lie. The Boerbol is 1000% better than the Cane Corso. I can elaborate, but there's not enough space. Go with the Boerbol, you won't be disappointed. Not to many people can say they actually owned both breeds. Btw, I have two Cane Corso's. Male and female. Go with the Boerbol. Trust me on this.
Great video, thanks for that! I disagree with a few things, but nothing that's a major sticking point. Both of these dogs are absolute units. You need to be 100% aware of what you're getting yourself into before you get one. A corso is probably a bit easier to fight for dominance over, but that's like saying would you rather wrestle a lion or a tiger for lunch? Just one thing though... it's pronounced cané (ca-nay) which is the italian word for dog. Keep up the great work! (PS, if any of these are dogs from your kennel, I'll be in contact with you in the future for sure!)
Definitely need to do your homework BEFORE you get one. These breed have needs that must be fulfilled in order for them to fit into your lifestyle smoothly. If you can't meet their need then you will have Big problems on your hands. Many of the dogs are from our breeding program.
Did she say boerboel and agility? I’ve trained both of these breeds to a high level in my time as a trainer and never seen a boerboel in agility. Corsos also can get to 130-150LBS. I love both breeds but corsos are a little less stubborn and have sharper ob on avg!

Facts my cane Corso may be kind of an outlier but he’s right around 175-180lbs rn. Super muscular but still lean and agile. I’ve had him on a raw diet for about 2 1/2 years now and I can definitely tell the difference

@@spottiestbeef7791 if they are larger than 130 which is still bigger than the breed standard they are probably crossed with a neo. This brings more health issues. It also makes them less athletic, functional, brings their defense protection drive down and brings their bite force down from 700psi into the 550 range. If you’re going to get a Cane don’t go for size otherwise it’s not pure bred and is called hanging papers which is crossing the breed for size and still registering it as a pure bred. This is a deceptive breeder practice. You can tell this by their excess size and the face has more jowls and loose skin.
An overweight one will weigh that much. Typically, they range 110 to 130 for the males. A lot of the reason you see quite large corsos these days is because breeding practices, and other mastiff breeds, like the Neapolitan which is a large mastiff being breed in. I have a corso that checks all the AKC standard boxes and he weighs about 115 at a year and a half old.

@@ExoticBoerboels my favourite breed by a long way, I don’t know why Google states them as 90-110 hard to get a good gauge of where their at weight wise. I mean I can tell from looking if she’s underweight or overweight but most people wouldn’t know what to look for

No sir. Boerboel bite strength is second only to Kangels. Not to mention heavier dog=more takedown strength, either can rip your throat out,but the Boerboel is by far the stronger guard dog against human or anything else.
@@stevewynn8689 some sources state that boerboels have 800 psi bite force but others say 400 psi. Also Great pyrenees have a higher bite force then kangals at 840 psi
@@stevewynn8689There bite force are very close so that doesn't really matter. I prefer active more agile dogs so I'll take the corso. But you cant go wrong with either dog.
